About This Pub

Ah, the Dickens Bar and Inn in Scarborough – it's one of those places that just draws you in with its warm, inviting vibe. I've got to say, the staff are absolute gems; they're so helpful and make you feel right at home from the moment you walk through the door. The rooms are a real treat too, nice and clean with some offering those stunning sea views that make waking up feel like a holiday. And don't get me started on the breakfast – it's hearty and tasty, perfect to fuel up before exploring the town. It's clearly a haven for anyone who loves a bit of sport or live music, with all the big games on and regular entertainment that keeps the energy high. The location's spot on as well, just a short stroll from the beach and local attractions, which is ideal if you're out and about. On the flip side, it does get quite noisy with all that action, so if you're hoping for a quiet night in, you might find it a tad overwhelming. Still, overall, it's a solid choice for a fun getaway, and I'd recommend giving it a go if you're up for some good times in a welcoming setting.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and always go the extra mile to make you feel welcome, which really adds to the homely atmosphere.
  • The rooms are clean, comfortable, and some even offer lovely sea views, making it a great spot for a relaxing stay.
  • They serve a delicious and filling breakfast that sets you up nicely for the day ahead.
  • It's brilliant for sports enthusiasts and music lovers, with Sky and BT Sports, live bands, and a resident DJ keeping things lively.
  • The location is spot on, right in the heart of Scarborough, making it easy to pop out to the beach, shops, or theatres.
Cons
  • It can get pretty loud with the music and events, so if you're after a peaceful evening, it might not be the best fit.
  • The operating hours aren't clearly detailed, which could leave you guessing about when to drop by.

Just had a 2 night stay here. The room we had was lovely and a nice sea view. The staff in the pub and breakfast were very friendly. Good location as well and if you are into sport and some good music, this is the place for you. Thank you and we will be back.

It is a fabulous little venue if you're looking for loud - loud - loud. The music was good, the beer was better and the staff were extremely friendly. Well worth a visit as long as you're not looking for an intimate evening for two, with slow relaxed music. A+
