You know, when I popped into The Courtyard in Scarborough, it really felt like one of those hidden gems that makes a day out even better. The food stands out as a real highlight – it's hearty, affordable, and they've got options for all sorts of tastes, whether you're after something light or a big plate to share. I loved the games room upstairs; it's got everything from pool to shuffleboard, which adds a fun twist to an evening with mates, and the outdoor courtyard is just the ticket for a sunny afternoon, all decked out with plants and tables that make it feel cosy. The staff are an absolute treat too, always up for a chat and willing to sort things out, like letting a group use the karaoke room for a laugh. On the downside, if you're a stickler for proper real ales, you might feel a bit let down as they've got more tinned options in the fridge. Still, overall, it's a solid spot for a relaxed get-together, and with that 4.2 rating, it's clear plenty of folks agree it's worth stopping by for good times and good value.

The food is absolutely spot on, with plenty of options for different dietary needs, making it easy for everyone to find something they'll love.
There's a fantastic games room upstairs with pool, shuffleboard, darts, and more – perfect for a bit of friendly competition while you're out.
The staff are so welcoming and go the extra mile; like offering up the karaoke room for special occasions, which really makes the night memorable.
It's dog-friendly, which is brilliant if you're popping in with your four-legged mate for a pint and a chat.
The outdoor courtyard is lovely and inviting, with tables and plants that create a warm, relaxed atmosphere for enjoying a drink outside.

Cons

The real ale selection is a bit disappointing – it's mostly tinned beers on offer, which isn't quite what you'd expect from a traditional pub.
While the Sunday lunch is tasty and great value, it's not the best I've tried; it's solid but doesn't quite hit the heights of some other spots.

Was here on a hen do yesterday just came in for drinks and to chat with the girls. The bar manager came over and offered for us to use the karaoke bar downstairs! Absolutely lovely thank you so much for making our night. Everyone has said how lovely it was for you to let us use that room we had the best time ♥️!

This was a nice pub in the middle of town Food was good but it advertised a range of real ales. When I went in he had a fridge of tinned beers. Not what I would expect so a bit disappointed. Good job the food was good

What a great place. A group of 8 of us with different dietary requirements and we all found lovely food to eat. The games room upstairs is a must, pool, shuffle board, darts and table games. Outside courtyard with tables and plants looked really welcoming (we stayed in). Dog friendly and suitable for all our family (teens to pensioners)

Stumbled across this place by accident while in Scarborough Town. As it was Sunday, their roast dinner sounded appealing. What more could you ask for on a cold dreary February day. Definitely hit the spot. Was it the best Sunday lunch I've had? Probably not, but it was hot, tasty and excellent value. Two roasts and two pints for just over £30. It is dog friendly, and as always I would prefer they had a separate area for dogs /no dogs, but thats my preference.

This place is a hidden gem in Scarbados. We only discovered it a few years back even after visiting Scarborough for the past 20+ years! Food is gorgeous but beware big portions! My daughter and I share after our first visit where we were stuffed after ordering a meal each. Bar lady Libby makes your visit even more enjoyable. She's such a sweetie. Makes time for you, offers recommendations and is probably the best barmaid in Scarborough!
