About This Pub
Ah, the Devonshire Arms – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Cambridge, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, it's got this inviting, cosy atmosphere that's perfect for unwinding after a long day, with friendly staff who make you feel like you're part of the gang. The drinks selection is brilliant, offering a great range of beers and wines that really hit the mark, and the food doesn't disappoint either – whether it's a hearty pizza or those delicious beef ribs, it's all about good, honest grub without breaking the bank. It's especially nice for a relaxed evening with live music or catching the game, and little touches like board games and being dog-friendly add to the charm. On the flip side, though, the opening hours can be a bit of a muddle if you're not paying attention, and the kitchen shuts up shop earlier than you'd might like on some days, so planning ahead is key. Overall, it's a solid spot for a pint and a chat, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're after that classic English pub experience – just go with an open mind and you'll likely have a top time.

They've got a cracking selection of beers and drinks, with plenty of options to suit all tastes.
-
The food is spot on – think tasty pizzas, succulent beef ribs, and other hearty dishes that hit the spot.
-
It's got that lovely traditional pub atmosphere, complete with a cosy vibe, board games, and even space for dogs.
-
Live music and a family-like feel make it perfect for relaxing, watching the footie, or just having a good natter.
Cons
-
The opening hours can be a tad confusing with mixed listings, so it's worth double-checking before heading out.
-
The kitchen doesn't stay open late every day, which might leave you peckish if you're after food outside those times.
-
It might not click for everyone straight away, as it has a classic English pub style that could feel a bit old-school to some.

Tried the Devonshire Arms when we first moved here 10 years ago and it wasn’t really our sort of pub but tried it again more recently and were really impressed. It is a nice traditional pub, the staff are all super friendly and there is a lovely mix of all different type of customers including dogs! The food is delicious but also varied which is odd to find in the pubs on Mill Road these days. Quiz on Monday night was great too. I am not sure if we have just been lucky when we have been but it is really refreshing to go to a pub in Cambridge where the traditional pub buzz isn’t drained by a room full of empty tables reserved for diners. Thank you
Great place for good beers, pizza and live music. Good traditional pub.

Very cozy place, Big tables and boardgames. Great taste of music.
It is a nice relax pub atmosphere with good food. We had the bbq beef ribs with sweet potato chips and it was great. Even the Malbec wine was nice, deep and complex.
Would definitely recommend for a nice relaxing lunch.
