About This Pub

Ah, Deja Vu Garden on High Street – it's one of those places that really pulls you in with its vibrant energy and that international music scene, making it ideal for a casual get-together or a fun night out. From what I've gathered from the buzz around, the food is a highlight; those big, flavoursome portions of halal and Turkish grub come out piping hot and well put together, and it's clear a lot of folks rave about it. The hospitality shines through too, with staff who know how to make you feel at home. But, let's be straight, it's not all smooth sailing – I've heard tales of a DJ who struggles to keep the party flowing, which can dampen the spirits on a busy night. Then there's the odd nightmare with food safety, like undercooked bits that no one wants to deal with, and sometimes the service feels a tad frosty. Overall, with a solid reputation backing it up, it's worth a punt if you're in the area, just go in with your eyes open and maybe check the vibe on the day. It's got that mix of highs and lows that keeps things interesting, you know?

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely buzzing with an international vibe and great music that really gets you in the mood for a good night out.
  • The food is spot on – think big portions of delicious halal and Turkish dishes that come out quickly and well organised, perfect if you're after something hearty.
  • Hospitality is top-notch; the staff make you feel welcome, adding to that friendly, lively feel of the place.
Cons
  • Some evenings can be let down by the DJ, who might not mix the tunes well, making it hard to keep the dance floor going.
  • There have been a few horror stories with the food, like undercooked meat that left folks feeling queasy, which is a real shame.
  • Service can sometimes come across as a bit grumpy or off-putting, taking the edge off what could be a brilliant visit.

We had a reservation for women's day . Everything was almost perfect except the DJ .Really the worst DJ ever .I think we listened one ritme all night .He don't know how to mix the songs. When you try to dance he immediately make you give up .Please send him to some DJ lessons or just change him .

I took my mum, my 1 year old daughter and my sister out to eat for the first time here and ordered a mixed platter for £35. After eating a few chips and 2 lamb ribs (which i was also feeding my daughter!!!), we bit into the wings and saw this. RAW uncooked meat. We all felt sick and reported it to the manager who said this is normal! She said she could re make the chicken wings which we refused as we did not want to eat anymore as we lost our appetite!! She then said shed take £10 off our bill which should have come up to a total of £25. She then brang us the bill, which we read and it said £98!!!!!!!!! I told her this is wrong as we only ordered a 2-3 person mixed platter and she said it was a mistake. I then said i do not want to pay for food we did not eat! We had 80% of our food remaining which was left untouched due to being put off by the raw meat. She then said we had to pay as we ate the chips and rice. I was shocked. I then walked over to the family next to me and showed them these photos and asked them if they would eat this or pay for it if this was the food they received. They were disgusted and said no. I then walked over to the manager and showed her the same photos and said “if you are genuinely happy with the way your food was cooked today then you should have no problem for me to post these photos on your google reviews”. She then stormed out and her male worker shouted something in his language to my family and signalled for us to leave. I asked him if his manager was returning and he said yes. I said i will wait to resolve this. She then returned after a few minutes later and told me and my mum and my sister to leave. We received no apology for this. My mum then started throwing up next to the bin opposite the restaurant. Shame on you. I am not ashamed of posting these photos as it is a health and safety issue!!! We were left felling unwell and extremely upset by the service we received!!!

As a foodie, I eat everything and anything so I'm very good at trying out anything edible. As I've recently had Bulgarian food (by an acquaintance) within the past week and loved it, decided to try out this restaurant but I was very disappointed. From the moment I walked in and saw the cold, grumpy and unfriendly staff I wanted to walk out but I was very hungry and really wanted more Bulgarian food based on good experience elsewhere. The starter was the worst type of calamari I ever had as it was soggy and very bland. If you know me, you know nothing comes between my seafood and I especially calamari. While starter was very bad, the main course was disgusting I swear. The rice that came with my food tasted like vomit (no lie). Overall it was a horrible trip ill never make there again and won't even recommend the place to my worst enemy. Avoid!!!
