About This Pub

Ah, the Crown in Bradford – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local haunt, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got that comfy, casual atmosphere where you can pop in for a quick lunch or settle in for the evening footie. The staff are top-notch, always checking in to see if you need another round or if your meal's up to snuff, which adds a nice personal touch. Food-wise, it's mostly a winner – think tasty dishes that they can tweak for your dietary preferences, and at inexpensive prices, so it's great value for a night out with friends. Plus, with facilities like a beer garden and live sports on the telly, it's perfect for those big match days. But, to be fair, it's not all roses; there was that one review about a disappointing roast dinner with potatoes that were as hard as nails, which might put you off if you're after a reliable meal every time. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for a relaxed get-together – just go in with an open mind and you'll likely have a cracking time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff at the Crown are absolutely brilliant – they're friendly, attentive, and always popping over to make sure everything's tickety-boo, which really makes you feel right at home.
  • Service is spot on; it's quick and efficient, whether you're booking a table or grabbing a drink at the bar, so you can settle in without any faff.
  • The food's generally a treat – tasty options that cater to different dietary needs, and it's all served in a clean, welcoming environment that's perfect for a casual meal.
  • It's a cracking spot for watching live sports, with a beer garden and facilities like Sky Sports, making it ideal for catching the big games like the Women's Euros.
  • Being inexpensive and with handy features like disabled access and being dog-friendly, it's a versatile choice for a relaxed outing with mates or family.
Cons
  • There have been a few off days with the food, like one instance where the roast potatoes were rock solid and not up to scratch, which is a shame for regulars.
  • While it's generally reliable, the odd negative experience shows it might not always hit the mark, so it's worth keeping expectations in check for consistency.

Visited today for a quick lunch, which was totally unplanned. I'm glad we did nice pub friendly staff, quick service, and seating available with accessibility parking and access. Staff were checking to see if we needed anything and if everything was OK, which was nice. The food was tasty and I am looking forward to visiting again soon. Thank you 😊

It was really easy to book our table in advance. The table was already cleaned and ready when we arrived. Menus were easy to follow and it didn’t take long for us to make our choices. Food and drinks were ordered at the bar and drinks were ready without delay. The food soon arrived at our table, it was hot, served with a smile and was delicious to eat. I would highly recommend The Crown to anyone who is wanting to have great, uncomplicated food at very reasonable prices - especially with the offers they have for different days of the week.

being regulars here we don't often get bad food here. how ever we arrived Sunday afternoon yesterday; and the food was shocking, needles to say my 13 yr. old could of done a better job. we asked for a dual roast dinner, the roast potato's where rock solid and couldn't even get the fork threw them. we had one slice of turkey and one slice of beef, the turkey was like jelly and the beef was like rubber the stuffing I couldn't even put my fork threw that either. the veg was left and the stuffing was left. we where asked if everything was okay, but we was that angry and at the time didn't want to cause a scene. after what we had been served with bad food already we didn't want anything else from the kitchen. especially with not long recovering from food poisoning while we was on holiday a week ago. general service from the waitress and bar staff was good, its just a shame that the food was shocking

We would just like to say a very big thank you to Laura and all her team at the Crown for sorting out a buffet for our wedding reception (8th January) with barely any notice at all, and to take into consideration the terrible conditions with the snow, and a limited food delivery the day before. You all managed to pull it off and make our special day an extra special day. The buffet was great, and plenty of food to go round, and the side room was set up very nicely for us too. If you haven't already, you should all give yourself a pat on the back for working so hard and making this happen for us. Thanks again, Martin and Linda.
