About This Pub

You know, chatting about pubs like this always gets me excited – Cosy Club in Nottingham feels like a hidden gem tucked away on Victoria Street, with its stunning 1870s-era design that really transports you to another era. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food's a standout; people are raving about everything from the veggie burgers to the seasonal drinks and that summer set menu, making it a go-to for a relaxed brunch or a proper dinner with mates. The staff sound like absolute stars, always on hand to make sure you're looked after, and it's spot on for groups with those private rooms and celebration options. On the flip side, it's a shame about the accessibility – no wheelchair access means it might not suit everyone, and that story of food poisoning from one review is enough to give you pause, especially if you're in a big party. Still, with such glowing feedback overall, I'd say it's worth popping in if you're in the area, just make sure to book a table and keep an eye on how you're feeling after the meal. All in all, it's a solid choice for a memorable night out, balancing the highs and lows like any good spot does.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The building is absolutely stunning, with its rich history and beautiful decor that makes you feel like you're stepping back in time – it's a real treat for the eyes.
  • The food is top-notch, from delicious breakfasts to hearty lunches and dinners, with options like cod with caper butter that folks rave about, and they even have great choices for veggies and vegans.
  • Staff are friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and efficient service that makes your visit feel welcoming and personal.
  • It's brilliant for groups or special occasions, offering flexible spaces, private dining rooms, and menus tailored for celebrations, plus things like bottomless brunch to liven things up.
  • Prices are fair for the quality, making it a solid choice for a casual meal or a fancy night out without breaking the bank.
Cons
  • There was a worrying report of food poisoning from a large group, which is a bit of a red flag and something to keep in mind if you're planning a big gathering.
  • Sadly, it's not accessible for wheelchair users due to the building's restrictions, which might put some folks off.
  • It can get quite busy, so you might end up waiting if you don't book ahead, especially during peak times.

My boyfriend recommended this place, having been to another location somewhere else in the country. I really enjoyed my time here! The building is beautiful and the food was really wonderful. We got lucky and got a seat straight away, but I'd definitely recommend reserving in advance. The staff were really friendly and helpful

I have been to many cosy clubs and they're all pretty but I have got to say, this one was beautiful! Staff were lovely and helpful too. Food as always was very nice. Always a safe place to go for lunch if you're not sure where to go. Will definitely go back :)

We went there on a Thursday afternoon and it was quite chill. We were easily seated. The menu is satisfying, everything we tried was great and carefully prepared. We really like the cod with caper butter. Prices are fair. Walking in you rightfully think that the star of the show is the beautiful decor, however this place also offers some great and honest food!

14 out of 25 members of our party got food poisoning from the buttermilk chicken! Be warned! So, we recently had our wedding reception here but have also eaten here prior to this. General restaurant (1st floor) is lovely, high ceilings with glass chandeliers and great service. Bar area is on the ground floor and a lovely open space. Events: We held our wedding reception at the cosy club (meal and then evening). Overall, it was perfect! Starting with a really reasonable pricing point for what we wanted and they offered us lots of options to keep the cost as low or high as we wanted. We opted for bacon cobs and fries in the evening which they were more than happy to accommodate. The meal was lovely, we chose on the day from the party menu (again, lots of menu options but we preferred this menu from them all). It was 2-1 cocktails when we arrived, so everyone was naturally straight on this...this did cause some delays in service. My biggest concern through the whole process was communication. Getting in touch with the event planner was extremely hard, emails and no answers. On our actual wedding day it didn't seem like anything that we discussed in the final meeting was then given to staff to work from. Communication definitely needs to be better.

A stunning 1870s era private club with a number of well preserved bar and dining rooms. Being here really takes you back to the old hey days of yore! We ordered a veggie burger and some small plates that were delicious! Staff are very butlery and the bottomless brunch drinks were great! We loved exploring all the different lavish rooms and fittings!
