About This Pub
Ah, The Loxley – it's one of those no-fuss pubs right in the heart of Nottingham that just feels like a proper local haunt. I really appreciate how wallet-friendly it is; you can pop in for a pint or a bite without worrying about the bill adding up too quickly, and they've nailed the drinks selection with loads of local ales that go down a treat. If you're a sports fan, it's brilliant – they've got all the major games on, from the Premier League footy to rugby showdowns, which makes it perfect for catching up with friends over a match. The food's another highlight; things like that steak and ale pie are spot on, and they've got menus for everything from breakfast to group meals, plus fun extras like darts and a dog-friendly policy that add to the laid-back charm. On the downside, though, service can be a mixed bag – I've heard a few tales of staff being a bit distracted and leaving you hanging at the bar, which is a pity when you're eager for that next round. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed night out, as long as you go in with realistic expectations and maybe avoid peak times if you're after speedy service. Give it a go if you're in the area; it's got that warm, welcoming feel that makes you want to return, warts and all.

We had our Inclusive Darts League meet up here. One of our Group had rang up to book the area with the darts boards for a group of around 16 on the Saturday. It did not disappoint, we arrived to find that the staff had been out to buy 2 new dartboard for our meet up. Not only that, all the bar staff were very attentive, despite it being very busy in there due to the football being on aswell.
Food was great and the beer was reasonably priced.
Big shout out to Chloe and Lauren who went above and beyond with setting up for us and looking after us and also Hanna who kept us all well hydrated on the Friday even though she was crap at Top trumps and drove a hard bargain on the shots 😉. Overall, great time had. Thanks v much
Only went in for a drink and two young girls just stood at the till talking. I had to go to them to tell them what I wanted and to pay. Baring in mind I was looking at what beer's was on. Now I don't mind staff talking but when a customers standing at the bar I do expect service. Maybe if I was a young good looking bloke then they would of been fighting to serve me. I saw people walking out because of this.
Whenever I'm in Nottingham I always come here for lunch... I love Eugene's Steak & Ale pie!! Really relaxed atmosphere and comfy seating. I'll be back!
Cheapest bar in Notts, ok food if you're not too fussy, well kept beers & a good mix of patrons.
Bar games & sports on TV too.
Well worth a drop in.
Went in earlier stud at the bar just as someone else did, they got served 1st didn't mind as downloading the app, then some other fellow turned up and got served before me, now I'm a plus sized gal can't miss me but well and truly pd off , when I said I was next got looked at like dirt so left the premises and went to Spoons and got served straight away, such a shame as usually love your pub, so brekky at Spoons in morning
