About This Pub

You know, when you step into Coppice Wood Farm in Manchester, it's got that proper pub charm that just makes you feel at ease straight away. The food's a real highlight – think generous portions of carvery roasts, steaks, and all the trimmings that hit the spot every time, especially if you're after something hearty and homely. I've heard from a few mates that the staff are spot on too, always cheerful and on top of things, which makes the whole experience that bit more enjoyable. It's dead family-friendly as well, with an indoor play area and handy facilities, so it's perfect for popping in with the little ones or for a casual catch-up. On the flip side, they do push for ordering via an app, which might not suit if you're more of a cash person or just prefer a traditional approach – it can feel a tad modern for its own good sometimes. And if you're after a quick drink refill, you might have to wait a bit without a separate till, which is a small annoyance but not a deal-breaker. All in all, it's a solid choice for good value grub and a relaxed atmosphere, and I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the area, as long as you go in with realistic expectations.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on, with a fantastic carvery that's perfect for a hearty Sunday roast or sizzling steaks – it's all about those comforting, flavoursome meals that leave you satisfied.
  • The staff are super friendly and attentive, always on hand to make sure everything runs smoothly, which really adds to the welcoming vibe.
  • It's brilliantly family-friendly, with an indoor play area and facilities like disabled access, making it a great choice for a relaxed outing with the kids.
  • At inexpensive prices, it's excellent value for money, so you can enjoy a proper meal without worrying about the bill.
  • The location's spot on, right near the Trafford Centre with plenty of parking, and it's open long hours, ideal for a quick bite or a leisurely evening.
Cons
  • Ordering through the app isn't for everyone, especially if you're keen on paying with cash, which can feel a bit restrictive.
  • There isn't a dedicated till just for drinks, so getting refills might take a moment longer than you'd like, interrupting your meal.

The only reason I have given the service 4 stars is because not everyone wants to use the app to order their dinner especially when paying by cash and it would be better to have at least 1 till serving drinks only so that you can get a refill quickly and get back to your dinner. The food was plentiful and tasty “can’t beat a carvery” and very hot. Kathleen is a great host and offered samples of their scrumptious cakes. Had a lovely meal out with family.

I usually don’t like these places but this particular restaurant and also The Oak Tree Farm in Sunderland are both very good. Almost identical in their layouts, both have very friendly staff and the food is so much better than when this chain first started to appear. Very good all round. The carvery and the carvery salad are both excellent, the former being so much better than the chain beginning with T. Danielle looked after me well and promptly without being overbearing. Well done all round.

My go to place for food when i’m up that Big north. The staff are always spot on and attentive ( a quality sadly lost in a lot of places these days ). It’s not high dining, but you will be pleasantly surprised with the attention to detail and fast service.

Visited on Mother’s Day last weekend. One of the busiest days of the year but was seated and served very quickly. Que for the carvery was great - no more than 5 mins tops and was as good as ever! Plenty of variety & something for everyone to choose. Delicious - this is why we always come back here. We all bought a takeaway cake from the cabinet and it was huge - enough for 3 portions. Excellent value. Staff all lovely & friendly too - including Sam & Danielle. Thank- you! 😊👍🏻
