About This Pub
Ah, Swinging Bridge – it's one of those reliable spots in Manchester that I've heard great things about from folks who've popped in for a bite. From what I've gathered, the team there really knows how to make you feel welcome; stories of staff going the extra mile, like greeting you with a smile and ensuring everything's just right, make it sound like a proper cosy hangout. The food's a highlight too – those new lunch deals are a bargain, with mains from £5 and the option to add starters or desserts for a song, and reviewers are raving about dishes like the Grilled Chicken Caesar Flatbread. It's brilliant for watching live sports as well, so if you're into cheering on your team over a pint, this could be your new go-to. On the flip side, breakfast seems to be where it falls a bit short; a few have said it's mediocre, with things like sparse pastries or a finicky coffee machine, so maybe skip that if you're after something exceptional. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed meal or a catch-up with friends, especially if you're in the area for work or a stay nearby – just keep expectations in check for the morning service, and you're in for a treat!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely brilliant – warm, welcoming, and really attentive, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
The food is spot on, with fresh and tasty dishes that hit the spot, especially those new lunch options starting from just £5 – perfect for a midweek treat.
-
It's super convenient if you're staying nearby, like at the Premier Inn next door, with easy booking and plenty of parking available.
-
They show live sports, which makes it a great place to catch the game with mates, whether it's the Premier League or Champions League action.
-
Family-friendly vibes all around, with options for kids and a relaxed atmosphere that suits everyone from solo diners to groups celebrating birthdays.
Cons
-
Breakfast can be a bit hit or miss; some folks have mentioned running low on pastries or issues with the coffee machine, making it feel a tad underwhelming.
-
Opening times might vary, so it's worth double-checking to avoid disappointment, especially if you're planning an early or late visit.
-
While the food's generally good, it might not always be piping hot or perfectly timed, as one review noted it was just okay for a standard meal.

Was easy to book and I was staying in the Premier Inn next door. Easy to park. Shakira greeted me with a warm and friendly welcome and immediately seated me despite me being early. She really looked after me during my visit and was very attentive. Really great hospitality skills! The food was great, I managed to get the £5 deal and the chicken Caesar flatbread was amazing! Really relaxed atmosphere and I would definitely return again.
I’ve been dining at Swinging Bridge for the past few nights while staying at the hotel next door, and I have to say, this has been the best experience I’ve had at this chain so far. The food is consistently excellent—fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared every time.
What really sets this location apart is the hospitality. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, providing attentive service with a friendly attitude. It’s clear they take pride in their work, and it makes a huge difference in the overall dining experience.
If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping by. Whether you’re staying at the hotel or just looking for a great meal, this is definitely one of the best locations in the chain!
Booked table for lunch for friends birthday.
Staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble. Food was really good, hot and fresh and was all brought at the same time. Selena looked after her us she was fantastic and so was the manager Joe. Made our friends birthday extra special not to mention great value for money.
Went for breakfast, and to be honest it was mediocre. You pay a fixed price for a self serve buffet with juice, coffee, pastries, cereals etc. then you choose hot breakfast items which are served at your table.
I arrived mid service to find hardly any pastries left, and the coffee machine kept running out of milk.
When my cooked breakfast arrived, the bacon wasn’t well done as requested, the beans were half cold and the hash browns were soggy not crispy.
I’ve been here previously and it was fine - maybe new staff.
Service is impeccable! Really enjoyed the experience we had in this pub.
Had tasty meals there ; we'll visit again 😋
As it was Saturday lunch, we were a bit worried about the available parking space, but managed to find one for us, so that was great 👍🏻
