About This Pub
Ah, City Vaults, what a gem in the middle of Bradford! I've got to say, it's one of those places that just feels like a proper local haunt, with its buzzing energy and prime spot in the city centre making it ideal for a quick pint or a full meal out. The food's a standout – think stone-baked pizzas starting from just £6.95, hearty burgers, and even some tasty international twists that cater to all tastes, and it's all dished up at prices that won't break the bank. Pair that with a cracking selection of drinks, from fresh cask ales to an array of gins, and you've got yourself a solid spot for any occasion. On the flip side, while everything's generally top-notch, it might not set your world on fire every time; a few folks have said it's reliably good rather than mind-blowing, and those bills can sneak up if you're not careful. Still, with friendly staff on hand and a history of keeping punters happy for over two decades, I'd reckon it's well worth a visit for anyone looking for a relaxed, enjoyable pub experience in Bradford.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely spot on – it's lively and welcoming, with a great vibe that makes you feel right at home, especially in the heart of Bradford city centre.
-
The food is a real highlight; they've got a fantastic range from classic pub grub like juicy burgers and full English breakfasts to international flavours like Mexican and Indian dishes, all at very reasonable prices.
-
Staff are super friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and quick to assist, which really adds to the enjoyable experience.
-
Drinks selection is impressive, with over 25 gins and a variety of cask ales like Saltaire Blonde, so there's something for everyone whether you're after a pint or a fancy cocktail.
-
It's been a Bradford favourite for over 20 years, offering great value for money and consistent quality that keeps people coming back.
Cons
-
While the food is generally lovely, it might not wow everyone – one mate mentioned it was good but didn't quite blow them away, so it could feel a bit ordinary on some visits.
-
Prices are inexpensive overall, but certain combos like a burger, sides, and drinks can add up to around £42, which might seem a tad steep if you're watching your wallet.
-
The operating hours seem a bit inconsistent in the details shared, which could confuse folks trying to plan a visit, though it's generally open late most days.

I’d even go as far as to say this place is a bit of a landmark in Bradford. I’ve known this pub for years and have always liked it. It has a great atmosphere and a fantastic location.
You really can’t fault the quality of the food or the value for money at City Vaults.
Our first time visiting City Vault. A pub with a great atmosphere, some TVs and decent music.
The “Bantam burger” + halloumi fries and two drinks (one double spirit) was £42 which is somewhat reasonable and the food was lovely but I wasn’t blown the way. The breakfast was definitely a popular choice and looked lovely.
If you’re coming on a Bradford city match day I would recommend booking as there were lots looking for tables/seats.
Overall we will definitely be back to try some other food options!
I found this pub in Bradford City Centre while looking for somewhere to eat. The pub was quite busy but I found a free table and ordered a 9oz gammon steak for £10.95. It comes with chips or fries, peas, fried egg and pineapple ring. I chose the chips and a pint of diet coke (£2.60) to wash it down with.
The food arrived quite quickly on a hot skillet. It was a nice piece of gammon, not a perfect round steak like others, but looked like it had been carved.
I did leave about half my chips as I had eaten sufficiently.
I would definitely return the next time I'm in Bradford, it's good portions of freshly cooked good food at a reasonable price.
Was greeted by a friendly and helpful member of staff.
We both ordered the full English breakfast.
Waiting time for the food was good.
Was more than happy with the quality and quantity.
I was so full that I didn't eat again until the next day.
Highly recommended and will definitely go again.
