About This Pub

You know, I had a lovely time at Chop Shop Tavern the other week, and it's one of those places that just draws you in for longer than you intended. The staff are absolute gems, always up for a chat and making sure everything's just right, which really sets the tone for a great night. The drinks selection is spot on too – think brilliant whiskies, Mezcal, and a solid range of beers and cocktails that won't disappoint, all at prices that feel fair and won't leave you stunned at the end. That outdoor seating is a winner on a nice evening, and inside, it's all about that cosy feel with dim lights and stylish wooden touches that make it feel proper welcoming. On the flip side, being a fairly new place, it might still have a few kinks to sort out, like the odd inconsistency here and there. Plus, with openings only from the afternoon and not every day, it could be a bit limiting if you're after something more flexible. All in all, it's a hidden gem worth checking out if you're in the area – I'd say give it a go for a chilled evening, but maybe plan ahead for those operating hours.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, always making you feel welcome and right at home.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of drinks, from cracking whiskies and Mezcal to top-notch beers and cocktails – even Buckfast if that's your thing!
  • The outdoor seating is brilliant for soaking up the sun, while inside it's all cosy with low lighting and wicked wooden interiors that give it a warm, inviting vibe.
  • Prices are spot on and reasonable, so you can enjoy a few rounds without worrying about the wallet.
  • The atmosphere is buzzing and lively, with rock tunes playing and a fresh, energetic feel that's perfect for lingering longer than planned.
Cons
  • It's a new spot, so things might still be ironing out and could feel a bit unpredictable at times.
  • They only open in the late afternoon and aren't open every day, which might not suit if you're after a quick pint earlier in the day.
  • Their online presence is pretty basic – just an Instagram page – so it can be tricky to get more details without popping in.

Really friendly and helpful bar staff. They have Buckfast! Great outdoor seating space. Inside is cosy with low lighting. A great bar to accidentally spend far more time than you mean to in.

Nice hidden gem in Leyton! It opened just 7 weeks ago but the place is so cool, very cozy and warm, rock bangers playing all the time, nice selection of beers and outside tables available! My friend invited me to have a drink together there and I loved it! I will be back soon 100%
