About This Pub
You know, when I think about the Chandos Arms in Colindale, it's got that real community spirit that's hard to beat – it's under new management since last year, and they're putting out some cracking burgers and pizzas that hit the spot every time. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making sure everyone feels welcome, which is just what you want from a local spot. Plus, it's brilliant for dog lovers, with plenty of fuss for your four-legged friends, and the prices are spot on for a relaxed evening without breaking the bank. That frozen glass for your beer? Pure genius, especially after a long day. On the downside, I've heard a few tales of the kitchen not opening on time, which could throw a spanner in the works if you're hankering for food straight away, and the garden area's a touch dim, so it might not be the best for a sunny afternoon. There are some older gripes about food not being up to snuff or the place feeling a bit cold, but with their solid overall rating, it looks like they've turned a corner. All in all, if you're in the neighbourhood, it's worth swinging by for a pint and a bite – just keep an eye on those opening hours to avoid any surprises, and you'll likely have a top-notch time.

Occasional delays with the kitchen opening, like on a busy Friday evening, which can leave you waiting longer than expected.
-
The garden area can feel a bit dark and underwhelming, not quite as inviting as the rest of the pub.

Some older feedback mentions disappointing food quality and a chilly atmosphere, though it seems things have improved with the new team.
-
Inconsistent service experiences based on a few reviews, so it might not always hit the mark depending on when you visit.

So we come here to support our local pub. The kitchen was closed for a long time over the years so we decided to splash out on their new menu.
It was around 6pm on Friday and the kitchen still wasn't open when we tried to order but they said it will be in around 15 mins. Odd for a Friday but no biggie we waited.
We ordered. 40 mins flew by and we were wondering what was going on. The bartender did mention there would be a bit of a delay so maybe it was worse than we thought.
Then we hit one hour. I asked the bartender if she can look into what's going on with our order. She confirms the ticket for our order didn't even get to the chef.
I asked for a refund as we were hungry. We got a apology while the refund was processed. I was really surprised how they dealt with this. Is it a regular occurrence? Not asking if there's anything they could do?
Really disappointing. We came to support our local and this is the treatment we got. We're not expecting free things. Just acknowledge the mistake and empathise that we had to wait over an hour for nothing.
I really hope they sort things out but unfortunately we won't be coming for food.

Nice place staff really friendly, didn't have food but seemed busy for it a little dark in garden area but overall seemed like a gd local
I absolutely loved it when i got welcomed by Dionne with my wolf and straight away offered dog treats to me and her colleague was really adequate and respectful, all praise to the owner to have thought of these characteristics to run in the local pub, i myself are from west london but we don't have these welcoming in most pubs which is why i passionately left this review, i dont want to leave any comments on the food because when you consume beer then everything and anything is exceptionally breathtaking!
... booked xmas meal, place was freezing cold when we arrived and until we left. food nicely presented but quality was disappointing. obviously not fresh, even the berries for pavlova were from a 'bag'. and to top it all off, chef aggressive towards waiting staff, he thinks he is from "Hell's Kitchen", not a pleasant atmosphere, quite intense and if you can look closely on the ice cream, that is the fingertip of the chef who decided to pick up the ice cream with his bare hands. it is astonishing what you can see through an open plan kitchen. therefore, never again and 2 stars for the effort at least. that is generosity!
