About This Pub
Ah, let me tell you about the Canbury Arms – it's one of those proper Kingston gems that's been a go-to for locals for years. Picture this: you walk in and you're greeted by a friendly team who's genuinely passionate about their grub and drinks, making it feel like you're catching up with pals rather than just popping into a pub. The food is a real highlight; they've got these elevated pub classics that take your favourites and give them a sophisticated twist with fresh, seasonal British ingredients – I mean, their Sunday roasts are the stuff of legends, and everything's reasonably priced for what you get. Plus, that outdoor garden terrace is an absolute treat for warmer days, letting you sip on a nice Provence rosé or a comforting Malbec while soaking up the atmosphere. It's super flexible for all sorts of occasions, whether you're planning a casual meet-up or something a bit more special. On the flip side, though, wine lovers might find the prices a bit eye-watering, and from what I've heard from a few folks, service can have its off moments – like when the menu's limited or they forget about your order, which is a shame because it could spoil an otherwise great evening. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're after a relaxed spot for good food and drinks, but it's worth keeping those little niggles in mind to manage your expectations.

Had a good meal outdoors at this pub. The outdoor area and inside are nicely furnished and it’s a quiet haven away from Kingston’s busy town centre. Service was good and food reasonably priced with good options. Wine was quite expensive but It seems to be the case everywhere nowadays.
After 6:30pm there’s plenty of free parking nearby and bus stops and railway station are a short walk away. It was my first visit here and will definitely go back again.
The Canbury Arms on Canbury Park Road in Kingston upon Thames. A superb offering from the Young's stable. The service and interaction from and with the staff is from the top draw! A good offering from the keg, covering many tastes. There are also three cask ales on offer, including a couple from the Surrey Hills Brewery. A wonderful airy dining area and a couple of 'secret' patios. All great fun and lovely cold beer to boot.
There is also a discreet, private dining area upstairs, ideal for business meetings, celebrations and the like. A must visit!!
As a family, we used to love coming here due to the nice food and range of menu. Unfortunately, we were disappointed by the staff, service and availability of menu on our recent evening out. After being told the menu was limited and had run out of a numerous of things, we were forgotten by the staff and had to ask multiple times for drinks and water to be delivered. Our side of cauliflower cheese was brought out a long time before our main, and after asking, we were told our food was coming soon - it did not. Asking multiple times to be served our next course, the service was disappointing and a shame as the food is always lovely and well prepared. We did enjoy the roast we ordered along with the dessert (which we were brought extra as they had run out of an entire sticky toffee pudding, which was kind.) I do recommend the food, it is lovely however the service is always a let down and made us feel unimportant as customers.
Just discovered this great oub recently. Lovely friendly staff and delicious plentiful food!
The Roast beef today was amazing! My friend had her favourite fish stew
I had a lovely experience on Christmas Eve at the Canbury Arms. Angus made sure my group and I were well accommodated so the service was brilliant! I ordered the Espresso Martini and it was lush! Very good experience.
