About This Pub

So, if you're after a proper good night out in Wolverhampton, Canalside Lounge is one of those places that just feels like a breath of fresh air. Picture this: you're tucking into some seriously tasty Punjabi food, like their signature mixed grills or soul-warming curries, all prepared with a clever modern twist that keeps things exciting without losing that authentic flavour. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, folks absolutely rave about the food and how welcoming the staff are – they go out of their way to make sure everything's just right, whether you're there for a cosy date or a lively group catch-up. The canal-side setting adds a lovely touch, making it feel a bit special, especially on a sunny day when you can sit outside and watch the world go by. On the flip side, though, it's not without its little niggles; the hours can be a bit tricky to pin down, and being a bit out of the way means it might not suit everyone for a spontaneous visit. Overall, it's a solid choice if you're in the mood for something hearty and homely – I'd say give it a go, but maybe plan ahead to make the most of it.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is an absolute delight, with inspired Punjabi dishes like smoky tandoori grills and hearty curries that really hit the spot – it's all about bold flavours with a modern twist.
  • The service is spot on; staff are friendly, attentive, and make you feel right at home, whether you're popping in for a quick bite or settling in for the evening.
  • It's got a cracking atmosphere with canal-side seating that's perfect for soaking up the views, making it a lovely spot for a relaxed meal with mates or a family gathering.
  • They've got a great vibe for events, with plenty of space for private dos like birthdays or work dinners, and the bar is well-stocked with options to suit all tastes.
  • The menu caters to everyone, including vegetarians, and it's reasonably priced for the quality, with generous portions that leave you satisfied.
Cons
  • The operating hours can seem a bit confusing at times, with varying schedules listed, so it's worth double-checking before heading out to avoid any disappointment.
  • As a hidden gem on the outskirts, it might not be the most convenient spot if you're in the city centre, and getting there could take a bit of effort.
  • With an average rating of 4.1, it suggests that while most visits are brilliant, there might be the occasional off day with service or food that doesn't quite live up to the hype.
  • It's moderately priced, which is fair for what you get, but it could feel a tad steep for a casual midweek meal if you're watching the pennies.

A Hidden Gem by the Canal! I found this place on TikTok and I’m so glad I gave it a try. The food was absolutely great, and the service was just as good — friendly and attentive. What really made the experience for me, though, was the canal-side seating area. Sitting there with the sun shining, enjoying a delicious meal and the peaceful view, was just perfect. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

I went here yesterday after the England Euro Game as it was recommended to me by a friend for the 'best grill'. The whole experience from start to finish was amazing. We were greeted by a young lady who was friendly and welcoming and promptly took our order. We decided to have a sharing dish and the variety and food was amazing. I will be sure to be recommending here in future too and will definitely be returning! Thank you 😊

We went after a friend recommended it, and I can say we were not disappointed. Lovey atmosphere, nice interior and vibe. The staff were really fantastic and helpful and the service was top quality. The food menu was good, plenty to choose from, and a good variety for vegetarians too (well priced). The food was lovely, we ordered a variety of foods and was not disappointed. I would definitely recommend it 👌
