About This Pub

Ah, Cambois Club – it's one of those hidden gems in Blyth that really hits the spot for a relaxed afternoon or evening out. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the place has this fantastic community feel where the staff and regulars make you feel right at home, perfect for unwinding after a stroll on the beach. The drinks are a highlight, with a good variety and those affordable prices that let you enjoy a few without breaking the bank, and the games like snooker and darts add a fun twist to keep things lively. That outside seating area is just the cherry on top on a nice day. But, to be fair, it's not all perfect – a couple of folks have had a moan about the coffee being a bit weak and the food not quite living up to expectations, so maybe skip those if you're fussy. Overall, it's a solid choice for a casual get-together, especially if you're after good company and a laid-back atmosphere, though I'd say it's the drinks and vibes that shine brightest here.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely brilliant – everyone seems so welcoming and friendly, just like popping round to a mate's for a chat.
  • They've got a cracking selection of drinks and snacks, making it easy to settle in for a good time.
  • Loads of entertainment on offer, like a full-size snooker table, pool, and darts, so there's always something to keep you amused.
  • The outside seating area is a real treat, especially after a lovely walk on the nearby beach.
  • It's all very reasonably priced, so you can enjoy a pint or two without worrying about the wallet.
Cons
  • The coffee can be a bit disappointing, as one person mentioned it was insipid and not worth going back for.
  • Food quality seems to vary; some snacks are spot on, but others haven't impressed based on the feedback.
  • Without a website, it's a tad tricky to look up the latest details or hours before heading over.

Popped in for a coffee and snack coffee was insipid and the food wasn't much better, first and last time. Sorry.

Now called 'Charltons', revamped by John, son of the famous Jack Charlton, this pub/restaurant is better than under previous ownership by far. Good choice of ale and the pub grub is very good. Lovely to have a walk on the beach and end up having a very reasonably priced filling meal and a drink. Best of all, dogs are welcome and the courtyard at the back allows them freedom to run around and have a drink.
