About This Pub

Ah, Brouge Gastropub – it's one of those places that really pulls you in with its promise of great grub and a welcoming atmosphere, tucked away in Twickenham. From what I've gathered chatting about it, the food is a real highlight; think delicious seasonal dishes and those Belgian classics like moules frites that hit the spot, especially if you're opting for their set lunch menu or a juicy steak. Pair that with their impressive beer selection and cocktails, and you've got a recipe for a proper good time, whether you're popping in for a quick bite or planning something bigger like a birthday do or even a rugby meet-up. The staff seem to go the extra mile to make you feel at home, which is just lovely for those relaxed evenings. On the flip side, though, it's not all perfect – I've heard a few gripes about the veggie choices being a tad sparse, and some meals haven't lived up to expectations, like when the frites or mussels didn't quite deliver that gourmet punch. Still, with such a solid overall feel, it's worth giving it a go if you're in the area, just keep in mind it might vary a bit depending on the day. All in all, it's a solid choice for a fuss-free night out with mates, balancing those homely touches with a few areas that could use a tweak.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on, with standout dishes like the set lunch menu, chicken in Chianti sauce, and classic Belgian moules frites that leave you wanting more.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of beers, especially Belgian ones, plus craft beers and cocktails that make it a treat for anyone who loves a good pint or drink.
  • The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, perfect for everything from family meals to celebrations or even pre-match rugby vibes – and no extra charges for hiring spaces makes it even better.
  • The staff are really attentive and helpful, adding to that cosy, welcoming feel that makes you want to linger a bit longer.
Cons
  • Vegetarian options can be a bit limited, which might disappoint if you're after more variety beyond the basics like risotto.
  • Food quality can be hit or miss; some folks have found certain dishes, like the moules and frites, not quite up to the hype, feeling more like supermarket fare.
  • It might not always hit the mark for everyone, with a couple of experiences being underwhelming compared to the generally positive buzz.

Brought the wife for a birthday lunch, their Set Lunch menu 2 or 3 options is superb. She is a Vegetarian, very limited veggie food which is common in the UK, anyway her Rissoto was superb and nice and filling for lunch. I had chicken breast in Chianti sauce with wild rocket and fries, absolutely lovely. Beers are £4,55 from 12 pm to 4pm, so we had a beer too. Great idea to reduce the cost of a beer during the day. We topped it all off with one of the best Cheese cakes we ever had. Excellent service, excellent food, great to have in our area, highly recommend and we will certainly be back.

We visited on 22nd April 2025 after having a very stressfull evening, just before the kitchen closed at 10pm. It was myself and 2 friends. The decor and vibe was very chilled and relaxing. We ordered the Chicken Supreme, Wild Boar Sausages and I had the Minute Steak. My friends loved their order. My Minute Steak was cooked perfectly and the seasoning was 10/10 which came with crispy chips. I would say their could have been more garnish/salad but it wasn't an issue as I thoroughly enjoyed it. The beers and tequila's went down a treat! Lottie and the Manager (I forgot his name) were amazing! Very engaging and attentive. We were very happy to feel so welcomed considering it was the first time we went there. Overall, I would highly recommend this pub. I will definitely be visiting soon. Thankyou all and well done 👍

Much worse than before. Very disappointed, this time. Moules no better than the ones you buy at Waitrose and put on the microwave for 30sec. Frites were the worst you can imagine and expect from a "Belgian gastropub" Belgium beers the same as you can buy at Tesco. Won't return.

Thanks to Google rating we decided to check out this place. It serves good fish & chips and moules frites. Best of all, it has good beer selections. Nice place to chill as family like we did.

My recent dining at Brouge Gastropub was absolutely fantastic! From start to finish, it was a culinary delight. The food was delicious. I had a steak, and it was cooked to perfection - tender, juicy and bursting with flavour. The cocktails were also wonderful. The staff was helpful and attentive, making sure our dining experience was top-notch. The desserts were superb and nicely served. I highly recommend this restaurant.
