About This Pub
So, picture this: you're strolling along the promenade in Bridlington, and you stumble upon Richie's Cafe, tucked right by the seafront. It's got this unpretentious charm that's perfect for a relaxed bite after a beach day. The food really steals the show – folks are raving about the homemade apple pie and chips, which sound like absolute treats, and everything's priced just right, so you feel like you're getting a proper bargain. It's also brilliant for families or if you've got your furry friend in tow, with a menu that caters to all tastes. With a solid rating overall, it's clear most people leave happy, but on the downside, a few have mentioned the staff aren't always the friendliest, and the 90s-style decor might feel a bit worn out compared to more modern spots. Still, if you're after good, honest grub without the fuss, it's well worth a visit – just go in with realistic expectations and you'll likely have a great time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on – think homemade apple pie and chips that are just to die for, with generous portions that make every meal feel special.
-
Prices are dead reasonable, offering great value for money so you get a lot without breaking the bank.
-
It's in a prime spot right on the seafront, making it super convenient if you're popping in after a day at the beach.
-
The place is really welcoming for families and dogs, with a menu that has something for everyone, whether you're after a full meal or something lighter.
-
Service is generally swift and attentive, which means you won't be waiting around too long for your order.
Cons
-
The staff could do with being a bit more cheerful; one comment mentioned they weren't smiling much, which might make the atmosphere feel a tad flat.
-
The decor has a bit of a 90s vibe, which is nostalgic for some but could come across as outdated and in need of a refresh for others.
-
From what I've seen, the outside might not look as inviting as it could, so it might not grab your attention straight away.

Convenient for the beach, great food, very 90s decor so a bit of nostalgia 👍🏻😁 and the most important thing is... they serve the best absolutely amazing apple pie you will ever taste. Clearly homemade!. You get what you pay for too, because it's huge!
Visited Richie's Cafe whilst in Bridlington with my family. There is something on the menu for everyone and all priced really well.
The location is great, right on the sea front as close as you can get to the beach and the service was swift, staff were just as attentive moving empty plates when we had finished.
We all had different meals, including a cheese and tomato sandwich, jacket potato with chilli and cheese, sausages chips and beans and a bacon and pepperoni omelette. Nobody left a scrap of food on their plates, even though portion size was generous, as it was all really nicely made.
They also had a home made apple pie which was lovely, wasn't going to have any dessert, but saw how good the giant pie slices looked when we walked past the counter, and so took the opportunity (a decision I did not regret).
The menu is big and I could have chosen half a dozen things I fancied today, and probably half a dozen other things on a different day, when I fancy a different type of meal.
Pricing was pretty reasonable too, particularly with the food being well made, nicely presented and generous portion size. When we are next back in Bridlington, no doubt we will be visiting Richie's Cafe again.
Lovely food, dog friendly, John Smiths, Caffries, and coors to name a few.
Great food here at fantastic prices. Takeway pub and sit in restaurant all in one. Staff could smile a bit!! but the owner is hard working and friendly. Dog Friendly and Family friendly been in every day of our holidays.. home made chips to die for.
