About This Pub
Ah, Bob's Smithy Inn – it's one of those places that really captures the essence of a traditional country pub, tucked away near Rivington with those breathtaking views that make it perfect after a long walk. I've got to say, what stands out most is the food; it's all freshly made with local ingredients, and you can tell the effort that goes into it, like their proper cooked meals that avoid the usual frozen nonsense. The drinks selection is spot on too, with everything from cask ales to a great range of gins, and it's so welcoming for dogs, which is ace if you're out with your furry mate. The atmosphere is just lovely – imagine snuggling up by an open fire in winter or relaxing in the beer garden on a summer evening. But, to keep it real, it's not all perfect; a few folks have mentioned that some dishes lack a bit of punch in the flavour department, and there might be extra fees for sides that catch you off guard. Plus, the service can feel a smidge rushed, even if you're seated, and parking's a bit tight, so you might need to get there early. All in all, it's a gem for a relaxed catch-up with friends, as long as you go in with those little niggles in mind – I'd still recommend giving it a go for that authentic pub experience.

What are you waiting for?
Prawn starter and the plate steak pie are recommended.
Great pub/restaurant with great choice of beers and lovely food. Proper cooked food, none of the usual frozen rubbish some places churn out! Pet friendly area, too, for dining or just calling in for a pint or two!
Veg pie and mash was okay. Mash was a bit bland with extra charge for gravy.
Desserts were good and seemed to be freshly made. We felt a bit rushed even though we'd been given a time slot, but then moved to another table
Stopped by following a nearby walk and found the staff to be very accommodating. The portions were good and the food tasted great. Very reasonably priced too.
