About This Pub

Ah, the Bee Hive – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? I've heard from folks who've popped in that the staff really make the place shine; they're always on hand with a smile and a chat, which adds that extra warmth to your evening. The carvery's a highlight too – think juicy meats and generally tasty sides that won't break the bank, making it ideal for a family Sunday roast or a quick bite after shopping nearby. They've got loads going on for families, like that brilliant Wacky Warehouse out back, and it's great for catching the big games with mates over a cold one in the beer garden. On the flip side, it does get packed sometimes, so you might end up queuing for a table, and a few have mentioned the portions on certain dishes could be more generous, or that the veg isn't always as fresh as you'd hope. Overall, though, it's a welcoming spot that's worth a visit if you're in the area – just go with an open mind and maybe book ahead for the best experience!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff at the Bee Hive are an absolute delight – always friendly, bubbly, and ready to help, making every visit feel like catching up with mates.
  • Their carvery is spot on, with fresh, tasty meats and veg that's generally well-cooked and offers brilliant value for a hearty meal.
  • It's super family-friendly, boasting a massive Wacky Warehouse for the little ones, plus it's dog-friendly, so you can bring the whole crew.
  • They've got a great vibe for watching sports, with live events on big screens and a cosy beer garden to enjoy a pint in the fresh air.
  • The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed evening out, and it's conveniently located near local attractions like the stadium and retail park.
Cons
  • It can get quite busy at times, leading to waits for food or tables, which might put a dampener on spontaneous visits.
  • Some dishes, like the beef pie, have had complaints about skimpy portions, so you might want to double-check or try something else.
  • The veg isn't always at its freshest – it's still edible, but occasionally it feels a bit past its prime, which is a shame for a carvery spot.

Great evening in the wacky, Whitney who was in charge of the wacky warehouse was amazing and always there if you needed, she also ensured the areas was clean at all times whilst sorting other people with their food and checking in and out, great member of staff, bubbly personality, highly recommended for service will definitely be back again!

Amazing from start to finish. Carvery fresh, staff lovely enthusiastic and full of character. Even brought the little one some icecream because she’d been well behaved! Can’t fault anything! Wacky warehouse at the back is also massive, very clean and full of laughter for the kids!

It was busy when I was here.... 45 minute wait, so I decided to go for the carvery. The beef was great the veg was getting old but still lovely (especially the parsnips)! Excellent value... I would come here again!

We brought our Scout Troop here for a carvery as part of our summer camp. Amy and Jordan were fantastic, very welcoming and friendly and looked after us really well. The food was excellent, all three meats and all the vegetables were tasty, well cooked and plenty of them. Great value for money.

Been twice the past few weeks, lovely atmosphere and staff the food was lovely the first time but slightly tight on the beef in the pie last time. it was still tasty though and I will go again but order something different. Please put more than two pieces of beef in the huge pastry pie you will sell more. All in all good local pub grub .
