About This Pub
Ah, the Duke of Wellington – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local hideaway in Bolton. From the reviews I've seen, folks are raving about the warm, friendly service that makes you feel right at home the moment you walk in, and the food really steals the show with its varied options and quick delivery – think delicious homemade dishes that won't break the bank. It's got that quirky, old-fashioned charm with unique decorations and fun extras like a pool table, which is perfect for a casual evening with friends or even bringing along the dog for a pint in the garden. On the downside, a few people have mentioned the portions aren't massive, so if you're after a hearty feast, you might need to order a bit more or plan accordingly. Also, it can be on the quiet side sometimes, which is lovely for a chinwag but perhaps not ideal if you're hoping for a lively buzz every visit. All in all, it's a solid spot for good grub and a relaxed drink, and with that 4.4 rating, I'd say it's well worth popping by for a proper pub experience.

Cons

It can be quiet at times, particularly on off-peak afternoons, so if you're after a buzzing crowd, it might not always hit the spot.

Great atmosphere, warm welcome, great food choice on menu. Food was delicious and served really quickly. Dog friendly too.
Lovely old fashioned country pub. Very quirky light fittings and decorations. Tvs and pool table avaliable for those that want entertainment. The food menu is quite varied from pizza to home made lasagne. Order was given at the bar and served within 15mins, but it was a quiet afternoon.
Came here prior to the Bolton v Wigan game. Had a large breakfast along with my son. Food was excellent and great value. We also had a few games of darts. The landlord was friendly and very amenable.
Excellent cosy village pub, withh a great atmosphere
I came here with family and two dogs on a very quiet Friday. The staff were lovely and accommodating. At first glance the menu did worry us as the prices were so low we felt the quality of the food might not be great. We were however wrong, the quality was fantastic, but the portions were smaller than most pubs, this was fine for us as we aren't big eaters, if you are you could order 2 meals and it would still be cheaper than most places in the area. Also offers bluelight discount.
