About This Pub

Ah, Blyth Sports & Social Club – it's one of those unpretentious places that just feels like a proper local hangout, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this lovely community spirit going on, with folks raving about the friendly faces behind the bar and how welcoming everything is. The prices are a real highlight; you can grab a pint without worrying about the wallet, and they've got all sorts of events lined up that cater to families and adults alike, which makes it versatile for a casual meet-up or a bigger bash. That spacious bar and the upstairs room for parties sound spot on for when you're in the mood to spread out and enjoy yourself. But, let's be honest, it's not all roses – one reviewer mentioned a night ruined by a group of lads getting a bit too carried away, which is a shame as it can turn what should be a great evening into something less enjoyable. Overall, with a solid 4.4 rating, it seems like most people have a cracking time here, especially if you're up for a lively atmosphere rather than a serene one. If you're heading out with mates or family, I'd say give it a go – just keep in mind it might not be the place for a hushed conversation over a drink.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The prices are absolutely brilliant – drinks and events are so affordable, it's a fantastic spot for a budget-friendly night out.
  • Friendly staff who make you feel right at home, always up for a chat and adding to the welcoming vibe.
  • Spacious bar and lounge areas, with a large room upstairs that's perfect for parties or gatherings.
  • Loads of family-friendly events throughout the year, making it a great place for all ages to enjoy.
  • Free room hire for events, which is a real gem if you're planning a do without breaking the bank.
Cons
  • It can get a bit rowdy at times, like when groups spoil the fun during events, making it hard to relax.
  • The atmosphere might not always be peaceful, especially if you're after a quiet pint.

Canny little bar and seating area and the prices are brilliant. They normally have events on for family and for adults at different times of the year, with the prices of drinks it’s a definite starter place!

My friend and I went to see an ABBA tribute duo ,but it was spoilt by a group of drunken lads on what we assumed was a stag night .They took over the dance floor dancing with drinks in their hands ,were so loud we couldn't enjoy the turn. We changed our taxi time and came home at 9:30. We felt sorry for the 2 singers.
