About This Pub

Ah, the Prince of Wales in Blyth – it's one of those classic pubs that feels like a proper community hub, you know? From what I've gathered, the staff are spot on, always up for a chat and making sure everyone's sorted, which really adds to the welcoming feel. The atmosphere has had a nice uplift lately, making it a great place to nip in for a relaxed pint or a quick livener with mates. And let's not forget, the drinks are reasonably priced, so you won't break the bank for a good night. On the flip side, it's a shame about those tales of getting shorted on change or issues with card payments, especially when it's heaving – it does put a bit of a dampener on things. Still, if you're after an authentic local experience, I'd say give it a go, but just stay vigilant with your transactions to avoid any surprises. All in all, it's a decent choice for us lot looking for a straightforward pub crawl, with the highs outweighing the lows if you're prepared.

Stopped off in Blyth for a break on a journey from Orkney to Cambs. Found this pub open so went in. The locals, realising we were from far away, took the mickey before offering to buy us drinks and play pool! I had friends in this area in the '80's and a few in the pub tried to find out if they were still around, which was nice.
