About This Pub

Ah, the Black Swan in Scarborough is one of those places that just warms you up from the moment you step in. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff are absolute gems, always polite and ready with a smile or a chat, which really makes the whole experience feel personal and inviting. The rooms sound spot on too – spacious, clean, and kitted out with thoughtful touches like a microwave and tea setup, perfect for a relaxed stay without breaking the bank. It's smack in the middle of everything, so you're never far from the action, and folks have raved about the value, especially for a quick getaway or a night with some lively karaoke. On the flip side, it does get a bit heaving during peak times, like holidays, so you might find yourself jostling for space if you're not keen on crowds. And while the beds are comfy, the bathrooms are pretty no-frills, which could be a minor letdown if you're expecting something fancier. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back pint or a budget-friendly overnight, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area – just keep those busier periods in mind for the best experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always going the extra mile to make you feel right at home
  • Rooms are clean and comfortable, with handy extras like a fridge, microwave, and tea-making facilities that really add to the stay
  • It's in a brilliant central spot in Scarborough, making it easy to pop out and explore without any hassle
  • Great value for money, especially if you're after a cosy night with affordable drinks and even a bit of karaoke fun
Cons
  • It can get a tad crowded, particularly during the holiday season, which might make it feel a bit overwhelming at times
  • The bathrooms are on the basic side, so if you're after something more luxurious, it might not quite hit the mark

Super helpful and friendly service here. Nice upstairs room with a very comfortable bed. Bathroom more basic but has everything you need and was private. Free overnight parking on street which was handy. Excellent value.

I had a lovely one night stay here. I was greeted in the bar by Alfie and shown to my room. The room was very spacious and equipped with a small fridge, microwave, tea and coffee making facilities as well as a pedestal fan and a hairdryer. Complementary toiletries were in the bathroom. The bed was super comfy! I spent a couple of hours in the bar. There was a good, but quiet atmosphere and I felt very welcome. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Just spent 2 days here with my partner. Great central location. Got a really cheap deal with a 2 bed apt with kitchen area. Landlord, pub staff and cleaner all very friendly and welcoming. Had a laugh on karaoke. Thanks guys. Would highly recommend
