About This Pub
Ah, let me tell you about Big Smoke Taphouse & Kitchen – it's one of those places that really captures the essence of a modern British pub, tucked away at Heathrow. I have to say, the food is a highlight; their full English breakfast and smoked meats are just delicious, made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients that leave you feeling satisfied. Pair that with their own craft beers or a nice wine, and you've got a proper treat before a flight. The staff are an absolute gem too, always friendly and speedy, which is a godsend when you're on a tight schedule. On the flip side, it's not without its drawbacks – things can get a bit expensive, as airport spots often do, and I've heard from a few folks that the cooking isn't always spot-on, like a steak that ends up more well-done than you'd asked for. Still, it's a solid choice if you're after a quick, enjoyable meal; just go in with realistic expectations and you'll likely have a great time. All in all, it's a place I'd recommend for a relaxed pit stop, balancing the good vibes with a bit of honest critique.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on, with fresh, flavourful options like a cracking full English breakfast and smoked meats that really hit the mark.
-
Staff are incredibly friendly and efficient, always ready with a warm welcome and getting your order out in just 15 minutes – perfect for a quick stop.
-
They've got a brilliant selection of beers, including their own brews from Big Smoke Brew Co., which are top-notch and pair wonderfully with the menu.
-
The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting, making it a lovely spot to unwind with a glass of wine or a cocktail before heading off on your travels.
Cons
-
Prices can be a bit steep, as you'd expect in an airport, so it might feel pricey for what you get.
-
Some dishes don't always live up to expectations, like steaks that might come overcooked or eggs that aren't quite as requested.
-
Being in the airport means it's not the most relaxed setting, with the hustle and bustle potentially making it feel a tad rushed.
-
The food quality can be inconsistent at times, so you might have a great meal one visit and something less impressive the next.

Good place to have meal in Terminál 2. Full English breakfast and beer were excellent, even a bit expensive. The waitress Rupinder did a great job, kind and the service was fast.
Summary: this is a great spot to eat while you wait for your flight.
The food is delicious but a bit overpriced. The quality is great and i have no complaints. I ordered fried chicken on waffles which i don’t usually like but the balance in flavours was tasty.
The staff on shift that day was super nice and helpful, she was friendly and even advised us on what to get.
I would come back here if i ever was in Terminal 2 again.
I had a very nice breakfast at The Big Smoke at Terminal 2 at Heathrow in London. The Heuvos Rancheros were the best I have had outside of Mexico City. I also had great service from Harpreet, kind and friendly. A nice place to eat & drink before a long flight to Canada. Happily surprised;)
£15 for a breakfast which is unfortunately airport standard and £7.25 for a Cider.
Pretty nice cold pint and decent enough breakfast - sausage the stand out, hash browns crispy.
Requested soft poached eggs via the online menu and they were far from that but not the worst I’ve had.
Ordered through QR code and food came out quick.
Despite not being that busy the staff seemed very rushed off your feet which doesn’t help to create a particularly relaxed environment.
Odd vibe but would go again. Probably best option in T2.
Ordered ribeye steak medium well. The steak is well done (actually more than well done). No flavor of smoke what so ever. If you drop by here for a layover, just stick to fried food (e.g. fish and chips). The fry was okay. Didn't have much expectations from a airport restaurant but this is beyond what I expected (in a negative sense, of course)
Update: Reached out to their customer services as they asked for in their reply. They offered refund but I declined - to maintain objective stance.
