I just got a drink here. Service was friendly and fast and I found a table for myself around 8 pm on a Friday (the pub was quite full). The outside seating is not that inviting in terms of atmosphere (see one of my pics) but food prices seemed reasonable. If you are staying in a hotel in the area, don’t forget to look for other pubs you can walk to for more variety after you’ve tried this one
First of all, the food was excellent! We ordered the beef rib bourguinon, and the beef was tender, savory, and delicious. The nachos are different from what I am used too but the chips were flavorful and crunchy. The service was the worst I had ever encountered. The bartender/ cashier, a young lady, dress in a white tee shirt with no name tag, was as unfriendly and not helpful at all. We asked her if we could have dinner, and she asked if we had reservations, and we said no, so she said to pick a table. She didn't bother to tell us to come and order at the bar. This young lady made us feel unwelcome, uncomfortable, and ruined a great meal.
Nice pub on the Heathrow Airport perimeter. Far better than any of the countless hotel bars around the area. Comfortable, warm and relaxing. A couple of staff need to learn how to smile and communicate with their fellow human beings. The drinks are decent and the lines are clean. The food is standard pub fayre. I'm not sure what a "camera controlled patron" is!
Service was fast and friendly. Portion sizes are in the smaller side but very reasonably priced. Nice place to get a meal close, but away from the airport and the Radisson. We wanted to try the nachos but they were out.
My first visit to England in 2020 was unforgettable, and this pub was a big part of it. It was my first-ever pub experience, and it didn’t disappoint. The food was fantastic, the staff was incredibly welcoming, and the atmosphere exuded authentic British charm. It felt like I had stepped into the heart of pub culture, and I couldn’t wait to return one day.
Fast forward to September 2024—I was back in London and eager to relive that experience, this time with family. We had talked up this pub on the flight over, setting high expectations. Walking in, everything looked the same, and for a moment, it felt like coming home. But that’s where the magic ended.
The food was a major letdown—far from what I remembered. Disappointment hit instantly. Maybe there was a change in ownership, or perhaps the pandemic had taken its toll, but something was off. I couldn’t help but feel embarrassed after hyping it up to my family.
Since it’s the closest pub to the airport, I had hoped to make it a tradition. Sadly, after this experience, I think we’ll explore other options next time we’re in town.
