Upstairs, Flukes is a highlight; it's like stepping into a fun-filled games hall with interactive darts, shuffleboard, karaoke, and pool, which makes it brilliant for dates, work nights, or just mucking about with friends. And don't get me started on the events – they've got everything from free Saturday parties and quizzes to live sports and even kids' activities, all with that easy-going vibe that makes you feel right at home. The food and drinks are another win; they're all about supporting local producers, so you're getting tasty pizzas and quality brews that pair perfectly with the atmosphere. But, and I have to be straight with you, it's not all perfect – I've heard a few tales of waits for service stretching on a bit, like one person waiting 25 minutes for a beer, which can be frustrating if you're eager to get stuck in. Plus, if you're driving, the lack of nearby parking is a bit of a letdown, and you might find yourself scrambling to join events if you arrive late. Overall, though, it's a welcoming spot that does a lot right, and I'd definitely recommend giving it a go for a relaxed evening or special occasion – just keep those little niggles in mind to set your expectations.

They've got a brilliant lineup of events every week, from quizzes and live sports to family-friendly parties, and entry is often free, which is a real bonus.
The food and drinks are spot on, with a focus on quality local brews and dishes that hit the spot, especially if you're coming hungry.
The atmosphere is so welcoming and informal, great for families, birthdays, or even work dos, with staff who go the extra mile to make things run smoothly.

Cons

Service can drag a bit sometimes, like waiting ages for a simple drink order, which might put a dampener on things if you're in a rush.
No parking nearby, which is a right pain if you're driving over from further afield.

Great Surprise Find – So Much to Do! Wow – we stumbled across this place completely by accident while waiting for our car to pass its M.O.T. Walked around the corner and... wow! What a place! There’s loads of room inside and a large outdoor seating area. Upstairs, you’ll find Flukes which has American pool, shuffleboard, and digital darts. Pool is reasonably priced, while shuffleboard and darts are £10 per person per hour. Drinks were on the pricey side – I had a 330ml non-alcoholic lager and a lemonade which came to £10.50. Bit steep for soft drinks! There’s even a beach area, which adds a really fun touch. We enjoyed it so much we came back the following day. I didn’t try the food, but from what I saw, the portions looked a bit small for the price. That said, every staff member I spoke to was polite and very helpful. Honestly, I’d seen some mixed reviews about this place before, which had put me off. But I’m really glad I gave it a try – there’s so much to do here and the vibe is fantastic. Definitely worth a visit!

We got seated straight away, but after ordering, we had to wait 25 minutes, for one beer, a carton juice and a coke. We never got asked if we want to participate in the world record (that's the whole reason we were there for) and by the time we went, they were on round two and couldn't join. Quite disappointing experience. So we had our drinks and left.

Nice and big venue. A lot of different areas inside. Serves food and has few bars. Just a shame they don't have any parking close to the venue. We had a work party there and it was lovely.

Fun, exciting place for the whole family, which is odd to say about a place that serves all manner of delicious beers. But on the Sunday i was there, it was packed with kids and dogs and families (and others!) having a grand time. The pizza we had was delicious and the service was fast.

I've been hiring Big Penny Social for the Walthamstow Flea Market for the past five years, and it's always been a fantastic experience. The staff and management are incredibly helpful and accommodating, ensuring every event runs smoothly. The atmosphere is friendly, informal, and welcoming, creating a positive space for both traders and customers. It's a truly community-minded and creative venue, which makes it an absolute pleasure to host our events there. It truly feels like what was once called a 'Community Centre,' a hub for connection and creativity.
