About This Pub

Ah, Bert's Jazz Bar – what a lovely spot it is in the bustling heart of Belfast. I've got to say, if you're a fan of smooth jazz and a bit of elegance, this place really delivers. Picture yourself sinking into a comfy seat, with live music flowing seven nights a week, creating that perfect backdrop for a memorable evening. The staff are just brilliant, always on hand with a warm smile and attentive service that makes you feel right at home. And the food? Oh, it's a delight – think seasonal French bistro dishes that are fresh and full of flavour, like the goats cheese panna cotta that's been raved about. Plus, their cocktail menu is spot on, with plenty of options to pair with the tunes. On the flip side, it's not cheap, so it might stretch the budget a bit, especially with that extra charge for prime-time slots on weekends. Also, if you're just after a quick drink, you might find it a hassle since they only take bookings for dining. All in all, it's a fantastic choice for a special night out, but perhaps save it for when you want to treat yourself rather than a casual pint with mates. I'd definitely recommend giving it a go if you're in the area – you won't be disappointed!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The live jazz music is absolutely brilliant, playing every night and creating a sophisticated, relaxing vibe that's perfect for unwinding with friends or a special someone.
  • The staff are top-notch – friendly, professional, and really make you feel welcome, as if you're catching up with old mates at the bar.
  • The food is a real treat, with a French bistro-style menu that changes with the seasons, offering delicious options like goats cheese panna cotta and well-prepared mains that hit the spot.
  • They've got an extensive cocktail list that's expertly crafted, making it easy to find something special to sip on while enjoying the atmosphere.
  • It's a stylish venue in the heart of Belfast, with a cozy and romantic ambiance that's ideal for celebrations or just a night out.
Cons
  • It's on the pricey side, so it might not be the best choice if you're watching your wallet, especially with that stage charge on Friday and Saturday evenings.
  • Reservations are only for dining, not just drinks, which could make it tricky if you fancy popping in for a casual evening without committing to a meal.
  • The operating hours and availability can feel a bit restrictive, with things wrapping up at certain times, so plan ahead to avoid disappointment.

We came here for lunch, atmosphere was nice and staff were nice. We ordered goats cheese panna cotta for starters which was really nice. For the main we had gnocchi and pork with scallops. Gnocchi was not actual gnocchi dish and something similar to croquetas but it was still nice. Pork was nice aswell.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary in Berts Jazz Bar last night and we're so glad we did. Everything and I mean everything was perfect but the key to it all was the wonderful staff who attended us with such professionalism. We started the night in one of the booths with a couple of cocktails, an old fashoned and Napoleon's code, both gorgeous. For main course we had the rib-eye and beef bourguignon, dessert was creme brulee, espressos and more cocktails. All amazing. Then they sent us down a cute as hell wee happy anniversary dessert brownie thing. More drinkies in the bar before we headed back to our hotel. I must also commend the musicians who played a selection of jazz classics all night, absolutely amazing and all contributing to atmosphere, touch of class and luxury that is Berts Jazz Bar. I cannot recommend Berts enough, it's been our favourite restaurant but last night just put a wee maraschino cherry on it.

We had an absolutely superb dinner and in general a beautiful night with live music. What a fantastic way to celebrate my birthday! We arrived to the venue a little earlier. That gave us a chance to enjoy a cocktail at their bar. They have a vast selection, all listed in a menu that looked like a big passport. So funny! The cocktails were really good and that prepared us to have a nice meal. Both he started and the main that I ordered were exceptionally tasty. I was so satisfied that I decided not to skip dessert. And that's where the staff surprised me with the gift of a delicious bitesize brownie. Even the berries were delicious and sweet! The music was very nice and we could enjoy it perfectly as our table was the closest to the musicians. I would totally go back.

Didn’t try their food however, the drinks options were vary. The ambience were cozy, warm and romantic during the night. Sitting on a bar didn’t lessen the whole experience. If you’re someone who enjoy listening some jazz music definitely recommend Bert’s

Great place offering good quality food accompanied by live jazz music. Service spotless. Venue stylish and well curated. Definitely worth recommending, including the early bird menu, which is very good value. We had a great time and will definitely be back.
