Right, so I've been having a look at the Anchor Inn in Hathern, and from what I've gathered from the reviews, it's a proper cosy spot that really hits the mark for a good night out. The staff, especially Elaine, come across as absolute stars – they're so welcoming and go the extra mile to make you feel at home, whether it's sorting a quieter table or pulling together a big meal on short notice. The food sounds spot on too, with a solid menu full of options that cater to different preferences, and the drinks are fairly priced with plenty to choose from. That refurb they've done has given the place a fresh, brilliant vibe that makes it even more appealing for a casual get-together. On the flip side, though, there was that one review moaning about a Sunday roast where everything came out undercooked – raw beef and veg isn't exactly what you'd hope for, so it might be worth checking in if you're planning a family meal.
