About This Pub
Ah, Albert's Schloss in Birmingham, what a gem it is! From what I've gathered from the buzz around, it's got this warm, welcoming feel that makes you want to settle in for the evening. The food really steals the show – imagine tucking into a shared Bavarian feast with mates, where the bratwurst and schnitzel are spot on, though you might want to skip the pretzel as it's nothing to write home about. The service is another highlight; the team goes above and beyond, like when they handle dietary needs with real care, making sure everyone's looked after. The venue itself is impressive, all decked out with open flames and festive decor, perfect for a relaxed Sunday roast or a lively get-together. But, to keep it real, there are a few niggles – some dishes can be a tad dry, and it might not be the quietest place if you're after a peaceful pint. Overall, with a solid 4.4 rating, it's well worth a visit if you're in Birmingham; just go in with an open mind and you'll likely have a brilliant time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on, especially the Bavarian feast with tasty options like bratwurst, pork belly, and schnitzel – perfect for sharing with mates.
-
Service is top-notch; the staff are really attentive, handling things like allergies with care and making sure everyone has a great time.
-
The atmosphere is just brilliant – it's got this impressive, beautifully decorated vibe with open flames and seating that's ideal for groups, dates, or even a relaxed family Sunday roast.
-
They've got an extensive menu with plenty of variety, so there's something for everyone, whether you're after a hearty lunch or something more festive.
Cons
-
A few dishes can be a bit hit or miss; for instance, the pork knuckle was on the dry side, and the pretzel and swirl didn't quite live up to the hype.
-
Some might find certain items underwhelming, like the pretzel not being anything special, which could leave you wishing for more on the snacks front.
-
It can get lively and party-like at times, but on Sundays it's more chilled out, so if you're after a quiet spot every day, it might not always hit the mark.

Really enjoyed the Bavarian feast - enough for the five of us to share (although we had some sides we couldn't finish). Bratwurst, pork belly and schnitzel was tasty! Knuckle was on the dry side. The pretzel and swirl was not anything special though so I would skip those but enjoyed the rest!
Found this beautiful place today. What a breath of fresh air. This place is just perfect. Menu great, food amazing. Great staff. Will definitely be coming back
Came here the other day with a couple of friends and I’m absolutely raving about it here! Harry was just amazing - absolutely impeccable service. I had a gluten allergy I needed to make him aware of and he took it very seriously and guided me to options on the menu which would be best value for my money given my allergy. The food and drinks were equally as tasty and the atmosphere was so lovely!
Me and the fam went on Sunday afternoon for Sunday roast. Now Albert Schloss is known for its party and mayhem, but on a Sunday it was chill and relaxing and family vibes were there. Definitely recommend for a meal with your mates, family, date night.
Service was a 10/10, the guy (I cannot remember his name) was so lovely, he was funny which was good too. Good vibes from him. Made the experience even better. Atmosphere was loud, pretty much every table was full. There was a live performance on the stage which was a nice touch.
Food we had three courses, so I had alpine croquettes, roast beef dinner and pretzel doughnuts with choc sauce. The starter and dessert were the best!! 10/10 would definitely recommended. Sunday roast was a bit mid, I find restaurant Sunday roast mid because it’s always cold. But that’s just my opinion. The taste of the food was good, the gravy and Yorkshire pudding was great.
I would recommended coming here on a Sunday. There was shuttle board, which you could just go and play. There was a Photo Booth which was £1 a go, normally it’s like £5 in the evenings. The toilets were clean. And loved the disco toilet in the women’s bathroom, doubt the men have this :) this was a brill idea. Nights out there look fun!! Will defo need to come back for a night out.
Anyway 10/10 lovely experience, lovely Sunday afternoon :)) will be going back for food and trying just the normal mains.
Visited for lunch with a group of colleagues.
The venue is very impressive and it looked amazing all decorated for Christmas 🎄 There is seating available around open flames which is very cool.
The menu is extensive and my colleagues enjoyed the "Wurst" options. My Chicken & Avocado Toasted Sandwich with fries was good, the bread was a little greasy but overall a decent portion size. I also had the hummus and bread which also tasted good.
