About This Pub
Ah, The Shakespeare Inn – it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot, doesn't it? From what I've gathered chatting about it, the staff really stand out; they're so attentive and cheerful, making every visit feel personal, whether it's serving up drinks in the rain or ensuring your meal is spot on. The food is a highlight too – proper British fare with generous portions that leave you satisfied, and it's all done with that homely touch you'd expect from a historic spot. The atmosphere is just lovely, all cosy and inviting, ideal for a relaxed afternoon or evening with friends. On the flip side, though, the opening times can be a tad confusing with varying schedules, so it's worth double-checking before you head out. And being smack in the city centre, it does get buzzing, which is great for a lively night but might not be everyone's cup of tea if you're seeking somewhere more tranquil. Overall, it's a solid choice for a pint and a bite – honest, unpretentious, and full of that warm pub charm that makes you want to return.

Cons
-
The operating hours seem a bit inconsistent based on what's listed, which might leave you scratching your head about when it's best to pop in.

Leila was amazing! She was so friendly and accommodating. The poor girl had to run my drinks and food in the rain bless her but she still had a smile on her face! Thank you for making our day out memorable, we’ll come back just for her
From the moment we walked in, it was clear this place takes pride in everything they do. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the service was impeccable, and the food? Absolutely phenomenal.
Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. You can tell the kitchen team really knows their craft — each plate felt like it was made with care and passion. The ingredients were fresh, the portions generous, and everything came out piping hot and perfectly timed.
What really made the experience stand out though was the team. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what they do. A huge shout-out to the manager, [Insert Manager’s Name], who was visible, approachable, and clearly leading by example. You could feel the positive energy from the whole team, and it made a big difference.
Whether you’re after a special meal or just looking to treat yourself, this place is a must-visit. Hats off to the manager and the entire team — you’ve created something truly special here. We’ll definitely be back!
This was an amazing find, light filled with lovely comfortable decor. The standard of food was excellent and staff were friendly and helpful. We had sharing plate of melted Brie and venison croquettes, they were both delicious and reasonably priced. Good choices for beer too!
Best pub in Brum! Lovely interior and a nice, relaxing atmosphere. The bar team are particularly attentive and run around a lot to make sure punters are served as quickly as possible. Good range of alcohol and the food is top notch too. Dog friendly with plenty of treats. An all round top, top boozer. I must say the team are very friendly and welcoming. I have got to know a few of them by name so big shout out to Nathan, Lorna and Tori!
Had an excellent Christmas dinner here tonight. Food was nice and hot and very tasty! The portion sizes were generous too. A big shout out to Dan, Jos and Lauren for taking such good care of us, amazing service! We will definitely go back 😊
