About This Pub
Oh, Worsley Old Hall, it's one of those places that really stands out as a proper country house pub on the edge of Manchester – not your average spot, but something a bit special with its grand yet cosy setup. I love how the staff are so friendly and attentive, making every visit feel personal, whether you're there for a birthday bash or just a quiet drink; they've got that knack for creating memorable moments. The food is spot on too, with fresh options and cask ales that hit the mark, and don't even get me started on the desserts – they're a real highlight for treating yourself. The atmosphere is just brilliant, full of nooks to hide away in or busier areas for a bit of buzz, and on a clear day, those views over the golf course are an absolute treat. It's great for families or if you're out with the dog, adding to that inclusive feel. That said, it can be a tad expensive, so you might want to save it for when you're in the mood for something a bit splurge-worthy, and it does fill up quickly, so planning ahead is wise to avoid any disappointment. All in all, it's a cracking choice for pub goers looking for a mix of tradition and a good time, with just enough charm to keep you coming back for more.

We recently dined at Worsley Old Hall with my family, and I must say it was an very pleasant experience. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by a lively atmosphere that added to the great experience of our evening. The pub is notable for being dog-friendly, with many furry friends also enjoying the vibe. There are restaurant tables throughout the outer rooms, making it a perfect spot for both families and dog owners.
Even though it was busy, we managed to book a table online in advance.
We arrived slightly earlier than our reservation, and the friendly waitress encouraged us to enjoy a drink at the bar while our table was made ready.
The drink selection was impressive, with a variety of tasty beers and ales alongside the usual lagers. I particularly enjoyed sampling several keg ales, with the “Road Trippin Extra Pale” was excellent.
Once seated, we quickly ordered food for the kids, which arrived promptly. For starters, my wife opted for the pate, and she followed it up with the slow-roasted tandoori lamb for her main course. I chose the beef croquettes and the sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce and a side of buttered vegetables. We paired our mains with a lovely glass of Rioja wine, and all the food was fantastic.
We shared delicious profiteroles for desert.
The service at Worsley Old Hall was exceptional. We felt warmly welcomed from the moment we entered until we left. However, I did notice that with the restaurant being busy, it took about 20 minutes to receive our drinks when ordered at the table. I found that retrieving drinks myself at the bar was much quicker.
The pub is conveniently located next to the Delta Hotel where we were staying.
A note for larger groups: they require telephone bookings and deposits for tables of ten or more. I did attempt to call several times but wasn't able to reach anyone; perhaps booking in person would be a more effective option.
In summary, thank you, Worsley Old Hall, for a fantastic evening! I can’t wait to return.
Phenomenal pub. Excellent service, atmosphere, drinks, and food. This is one of my top places to visit when I come to town! Ps - do the desert - best I’ve had!!!
