About This Pub
Ah, The Barton Arms in Worsley – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From what I've gathered from the chats online, it's got this warm, inviting atmosphere that's perfect for nipping in after a drive on the M60 or catching up with friends over a quiz night. The staff really shine through; they're quick with suggestions and make you feel right at home, with a few names like Josh standing out for being hilariously polite and attentive. Food-wise, it's generally a winner for families, with solid options on the menu that offer great bang for your buck, and it's ace that they cater to kids and even your four-legged pals. But, let's be honest, it's not flawless – there've been times when meals haven't quite hit the mark, like a roast that didn't quite deliver on the crispiness or portions that felt a tad ordinary for the price, and the odd mix-up with orders can throw a spanner in the works. Overall, though, if you're after a reliable spot for a mid-week pint or a weekend treat without the fuss, it's worth a visit; just keep expectations in check for those little niggles, and you'll likely have a cracking time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely brilliant – always helpful, friendly, and quick to make recommendations, with folks like Lauren, Yas, and Josh getting special mentions for their top-notch service.
-
It's a fantastic spot for family gatherings or a casual meal; the food is generally tasty and great value, with options for kids, vegetarians, vegans, and even a Sunday roast menu.
-
The atmosphere is really cosy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed drink or fun events like the quiz nights, which sound like a blast based on the lively feedback.
-
Convenient location near the M60 makes it easy to pop in, and it's pet-friendly too, so you can bring your furry mates along.
Cons
-
Food quality can be hit or miss; some dishes didn't live up to expectations, like a festive roast that was a bit underwhelming compared to the price.
-
There have been a few slip-ups with orders, such as getting the wrong meal or dealing with a cracked glass, which puts a damper on the experience.
-
It's not always spot-on for everyone – a couple of reviews mentioned it tasting better on the menu than in reality, so it might not wow you every time.

Had a great time with the family here. Huge thanks to our servers Lauren and Yas. Very helpful with food suggestions and food was brought out really fast. Highly suggest for a weekend meal, great break away from making food at home. 👍
Went on a friday night for the quiz. Ate before and had fish and chips. Was mediocre, a member in our group received their order wrong. Quiz was brilliant, first time there and came third! Hosts were amazing, lovely and welcoming.
A fanatic little place for quick bite. Really enjoyed the food and great value for money.
The atmosphere of the place was also exceptional. Really cozy vibes and really polite and attentive staff. Special shout out the the young man Josh who was nothing just kind an hospitable during my whole visit.
Would defo recommend and will be in again soon.
What can I say about this place, I've not one bad experience in the service and with the food.
Iv taken my friends in many time for a meal and they all say how nice the food is also the service. Every time I go in I get warm welcome from josh who ever so funny and polite, which you don't get that in many places. Josh goes out of his way to make sure we are happy with the food and drinks. Nothing to much trouble for him even if we changed our mind with the order. Need more staff like josh he certainly got good customer skills.
Cosy place, good location.
I got glass for water that was cracked along and chipped on the top.
Food standard didn’t meet the prices, tasted better on the menu than in reality,
We had festive Sunday roast, however don’t expect crispy roasted potatoes or fresh roasted carrots.
We won’t be coming to eat there again.
