About This Pub
Ah, let me tell you about The Glass House at Worsley – it's one of those places that really warms the cockles of your heart with its blend of excellent food and genuine enthusiasm from the team. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the meals are just spot on; we're talking fresh, seasonal ingredients that make every bite feel like a treat, and they've got options for veggies and vegans too, which is always a plus when you're out with mates. The students running the show add a lovely touch – they're so attentive and eager to please, even if they might be a tad jittery at times, which honestly just makes the experience more endearing. On the flip side, it's a bit of a shame that it's only open those few days, like Sundays, so planning ahead is a must, and if you're after a proper laid-back pub crawl, it might not quite fit the bill since it's more geared towards fine dining. All in all, though, it's a fantastic spot for a special meal without breaking the bank, and I'd say it's well worth seeking out if you're in the Manchester area – just be sure to book early to avoid disappointment!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is an absolute delight – fresh, locally-sourced ingredients make every dish feel special, with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options to suit all tastes.
-
The service is warm and enthusiastic, delivered by dedicated students who are clearly passionate about hospitality, making you feel right at home.
-
It's incredibly good value for money, offering a gourmet experience that's as affordable as it is impressive – no wonder there's often a waiting list!
-
The atmosphere is contemporary and relaxed, perfect for a leisurely brunch or special occasion, with a unique twist from being part of a college training programme.
Cons
-
It's only open a few days a week, mainly Sundays, which can make it tricky to pop in spontaneously.
-
As it's run by students, the service might occasionally feel a bit nervous or inconsistent, though that's part of its charm.
-
With limited hours and high demand, booking ahead is essential, and you might miss out if you're not quick off the mark.
-
The overall selection is more focused on fine dining rather than a classic pub vibe, so it might not hit the spot if you're after a casual pint and snacks.

The service is wonderful and the enthusiastic students give such a cute service.
There is a bar to get alcoholic drinks and soft drinks but water is served at the table free of charge.
The food is an absolute taste sensation and presented as good as any fine dining experience I’ve been to.
Their tutors and mentors glow with pride as they supervise the night.
Honestly is a wonderful experience.
It’s not easy to book a table at these events as they are so popular so booking early is recommended.
Visited for brunch, food was excellent, had pastries, freshly cooked that morning, delicious light pancake with fresh cream & fruit & a full breakfast, cooked to perfection with quality products.
The service was really good, very attentive. Will definitely be booking again after the new term starts in September & bookings available!
Fantastic idea. The food was excellent and showed a high level of skill amongst the students doing the cooking. Likewise the hosting staff were warm, friendly and attentive (of a little nervous At times). A great meal and cheap as chips. No wonder there is waiting list
