About This Pub

Ah, Worlds End in Knaresborough – what a gem it is for a casual get-together with mates. Picture this: you're sat out on that new terraced area, gazing over the River Nidd, with a refreshing pint in hand and maybe a hearty steak and ale pie on the way. The vibe is just right, with its cosy interior full of character from the beams and stone floors, and it's one of those places where the staff genuinely make you feel welcome, always on hand with a friendly chat. Plus, if you're out for a walk with the dog, it's spot on being so accommodating. On the flip side, though, it's not without its flaws – the prices can sting a bit more than you'd expect, and while some rave about the food, others have had off days where it didn't quite hit the mark, with the menu not offering a huge selection to choose from. Still, overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening, especially if you catch it on a nice day. I'd say give it a go and see for yourself; it's all about that balance of good times and a few things to keep in mind.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The location is absolutely stunning, right by the River Nidd with a lovely new terraced area for soaking up the views – perfect for a relaxing pint on a sunny day.
  • The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with traditional features like stone flooring and large beams that make you feel right at home.
  • Food highlights include delicious options like steak and ale pie, and it's great to hear about proper home-cooked meals and real ale that's spot on.
  • Staff are friendly and attentive, always ready with a smile and quick service, which really adds to the experience.
  • It's dog-friendly, so you can bring your furry friend along for the outing, making it ideal for walks followed by a stop for refreshments.
Cons
  • Prices can be a bit steep for what you get, so it might not be the best spot if you're watching your wallet.
  • The food quality isn't consistent – while some dishes are spot on, others have been disappointing, with complaints about it being terrible in places.
  • The menu feels a tad basic with not much variety, which could leave you wanting more options if you're after something adventurous.
  • It can be quiet at times, like on a Friday night, so if you're hoping for a lively buzz, you might find it a bit subdued.

Quite pricey, however the food is absolutely delicious. Stake and ale pie with vegetables and gravy, I do recommend. Lovely welcome and attentive staff. Dog friendly for anyone with doggies. I will be coming again, thank you.

Nice pub, at great locations at the edge of Knaresborough village and the end of river Nidd within the village, however the food are terrible, if you only have a pint or drink, that is a lovely place

Was in Knaresborough for the weekend and had heard lots of good comments about this pub and the food, so we had to visit, it was a Friday night and was pretty empty, the menu was pretty basic and not a massive choice in my opinion. I had the chilli beef and wife had hunter's chicken and got to say they where excellent. Only one thing after served we had no asking if everything was fine with food, just my thing.
