About This Pub
You know, chatting about the Woollen Mill in Darlington, it's one of those pubs that really hits the spot for a laid-back evening with friends. The staff are an absolute delight – always friendly and on hand to make sure you're enjoying yourself, which adds such a warm touch to the place. Plus, their food deals are spot on; you can grab a solid meal without breaking the bank, and it's just the ticket for families or if you're up for watching the footie or diving into a quiz. On the brighter side, they've got all the little extras like a beer garden for sunnier days and easy parking, which makes it dead convenient. But, and I say this honestly, it's not all perfect – I've heard a few tales of food not quite living up to expectations, like steaks that aren't cooked through or plates turning up cold, which can dampen the mood. There are also grumbles about the odd hygiene issue, such as grubby cutlery or tables that need a wipe, so it might not be the tidiest spot every time. All in all, it's worth swinging by for the good vibes and value, but perhaps keep an eye out and choose a busier day when things are running smoothly – that way, you're in for a treat without any surprises.

Highly disappointed I asked for a steak (extremely well done no pepper/onions etc) sadly it didn’t come out cooked enough it was on a sizzler which was cold n the plate was full of peppers/onions n then I could taste is on the 🥩. The chips n onions rings were cold! No one came to check in with us which I feel this should happen.
Lovely pub to go too. Me and my family go in all the time and the food is always hot and tasty and the staff are extremely friendly and attentive to your needs or needs of others. Definitely recommend!
Firstly the cutlery is absolutely disgusting, communal trays filled with half washed cutlery which everyone including kids was fingering, no idea when anyone last washed their hands. Sticky tables. Stunk of sour beer.
Nearly £9 for a breakfast that consists of 2 tbsp beans, mushrooms, 2 hash browns, 1 sausage, 1 egg and 1 rasher of bacon. Granted the bacon was really tasty, hash browns, beans and mushrooms decent enough but egg and especially the anemic sausage I've attached a picture of was awful. Plus 1.29 extra for a piece of toast what a JOKE. I'm not a fan of spoons but it is cheaper and nicer there.
Also the app promises £5 off first order but cancels any special offers so basically more expensive to order anything, what a con.
Can't fault this place at all. Staff are always so friendly and helpful, food is outstanding. Me and my husband always have a great experience at the Hungry Horse in Darlington. Thank you to all the staff for always making it an enjoyable experience.
Love this pub:) I come here every Thursday for the quiz (which is also very fun). The staff are great; they’re super friendly and easy to get on with and the prices of drinks and food are good too. The food tastes and looks great, I’ve never had an issue.
