About This Pub
Ah, the Woodman in Rotherham, it's one of those places that just feels like a second home, you know? From what I've gathered, it's got this brilliant blend of cosy traditional charm and a bit of modern flair, making it a ace spot for everything from a quick pint to a full family meal. The food really stands out; think hearty British dishes like steak and ale pie or a big daddy burger that's spot on for value, especially with those tempting offers like 30% off mains – it's no wonder folks rave about it. The staff are genuinely lovely, always up for a chat and making sure you're looked after, which adds to that community vibe with events like quiz nights that get everyone involved. Plus, with a cracking selection of drinks and a dog-friendly outdoor area, it's perfect for soaking up the sun or just unwinding. On the flip side, though, there have been a couple of grumbles about service being a tad slow at times, like waiting ages for starters, so it might not be the best if you're after something super speedy. Overall, I'd say it's well worth a visit for a solid night out – the good bits far outweigh the niggles, and it's got that heartwarming touch that keeps people coming back for more.

We went for Father’s Day. A card wishing a happy Father’s Day waited on the table. Nice touch. We ordered a big daddy burger, wings and a flat bread chicken kebab. It all arrived together. Was tasty and at a decent price. Can’t ask for much more really. Decent pint too!!! Different pub now this. Well done.
Cracking nights out especially on a Tuesday with the bingo and quiz with wayne smith, absolute fantastic place and well worth a visit. Staff and people in there are amazing and will make you feel very welcome. Fantastic place.
I arrived here on Wednesday and enjoyed it so much that I came back on Thursday! First off, both days, I was welcomed by Leah, like a friend coming home. The cleanliness of the establishment is unmatched. Lovely outdoor seating area and plenty of room and tables inside. The first day, I went for a beef madras and a pint (sorry, no pics). For £12 and optional extras, great deal. The second day, I had leak and potato soup, then the steak deal £14 with a £1.50 supliment to upgrade to sirloin and a pint. Well, that was a no-brainer. Steak was cooked bang on and very tasty. The leak n tatty soup was good and thick just as I like it. Thank you, everyone involved in making my visits very pleasant and inviting, especially Leah. I will be returning when I'm in the area next.
Visited as received a money off voucher and keen to have a regular local, service initially good, ordered food and asked if starter wanted separate to main meal which we said yes, asked again at the table if starter wanted before main meal, this must be a game changer as waited approximately 30 minutes for starter then another 30 minutes for main, other tables that had just ordered a main after us received their main meal and ate and left before we had our starter! Really sorry but service better at other local pubs/restaurants
My husband and I had a wonderful meal, our reserved table was ready and our meal was served quickly, very well presented and delicious. The staff as always were friendly and attentive. All in all a delightful visit.
