About This Pub

Ah, the William IV – it's one of those hidden gems in London that you stumble upon and think, 'Why haven't I been here sooner?' From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the place has this lovely, cosy atmosphere that strikes just the right balance between a classic old boozer and a fresh, upbeat spot. Folks rave about the food; that Sunday roast sounds like a proper treat, all juicy and packed with flavour, and the fresh fish and pies get high marks too – it's clear they've put real effort into making meals that stick with you. The staff are the real stars, though; they're so welcoming and helpful, whether you're chatting at the bar or settling in for a meal, which makes the whole experience feel personal and enjoyable. On the flip side, it's not flawless – prices are on the moderate side, so it might pinch the pocket if you're out for a simple pint, and while most are over the moon, not every visit gets five stars, hinting it could vary depending on the day. All in all, if you're after a solid pub outing with great grub and good company, it's well worth a visit – just pop in and see for yourself, you won't be disappointed!

Cons
-

While most experiences are glowing, one recent review gave it four stars, suggesting it might not quite hit the mark for everyone, perhaps if you're after something a bit more extraordinary.

With moderate prices, it could feel a tad pricey for a casual visit, especially if you're just in for a drink and the bill adds up with food.

We came when it had just opened and met Lee, one of the founders, who made us feel so welcome. We haven't really stopped coming back. Great atmosphere, superb range of drinks, good wine list and really good food. At the bar, the mushroom pie is one of my favourites. And in the restaurant, I just had an amazing rare breed pork shoulder with buttered leeks. I definitely recomend it. This is how all London pubs should be. Come drink, bring your friends and definitely check out the upstairs restaurant.
We had Sunday Roast after my marathon and it was amazing! Food was high quality and the service was even better. Thanks again for everything
A Wonderful Experience!
I had such a great time during my visit! I was warmly welcomed by the manager, Dan, and the lovely Ellen — both were incredibly kind and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was just perfect — cozy, stylish, and full of good energy. I wasn’t expecting to be so impressed, but it truly was a delightful surprise. Highly recommend! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Beautiful pub with large windows and wonderful atmosphere. Great Sunday roast (tried de chicken) and excellent fresh fish of the day (bream). The staff is super nice and welcoming - very helpful with kids (high chair). Very good beer selection (incl. Delirium on tap).
Great traditional London pub with a lovely warm atmosphere - mixing a traditional pub environment with modern food and service standards.
Couldn't fault the staff, and a great bar menu. Good vibes and happy faces from my experience. Loved the fresh whole-tail scampi.
