About This Pub
Oh, let me tell you about the Wild Boar in Aberdeen – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From what I've gathered from folks' chats and my own take on the reviews, the food really steals the show; think mouthwatering burgers, seasonal specials, and that haggis-crumbed chicken that's become a bit of a legend – all at prices that won't leave you skint. The drinks menu's spot on too, with plenty of classics and new tipples to try alongside a frosty pint. And the service? Top marks for being so welcoming and on point, whether you're just nipping in for a casual lunch or sorting out a bigger do like a networking event. It's family-friendly as well, which is brilliant if you're out with the little ones or need somewhere accessible. On the downside, a few have mentioned it gets nippy inside when the weather turns, and it might not always have that lively buzz if it's quiet, especially in the depths of winter. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed night out or a bite to eat – I'd say give it a go, but maybe layer up just in case!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely delicious, with standout dishes like the chicken with haggis crumb and whisky sauce – it's a real treat and fairly priced too.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making every visit feel welcoming and smooth, whether you're popping in for a quick drink or hosting an event.
-
It's great value for money, especially with deals like the lunchtime offers and a solid selection of drinks that won't break the bank.
-
The atmosphere is lively and family-friendly, with nice facilities like WiFi and disabled access, making it a handy spot for all sorts of get-togethers.
Cons
-
It can get a bit chilly inside, particularly on colder days or when the weather's miserable, which might put a dampener on things.
-
The place might feel a tad quiet or empty at times, like during bad weather, so it doesn't always have that buzzing vibe you'd hope for.

Very good menu item, chicken with a haggis crumb and whisky sauce. The other food was nice too, but this stood out. Fairly priced and great service.
We recently hosted a networking drinks event at The Wild Boar and had a fantastic experience. The venue was ideal — great atmosphere, delicious food, and a really welcoming vibe.
The staff were brilliant throughout: helpful, friendly, and made everything easy for us. It was a great spot for a relaxed evening with good company. Would definitely recommend for similar events.
Had another excellent dinner at the Boar, 3 small plates, Haddock Goujons, Sticky Chicken & Smashed Potatoes, all were delicious.
Staff were very attentive and cheerful.
Highly recommended 👌👍
Nice place, the weather outside was awful when we visited so it was empty inside and it wasn't to warm. The food was grand the drinks were better. Wouldn't be in a rush back but it did the trick to get in out of the snow.
I very rarely review stuff. But this gaff for Aberdeen is absolute Top banana. Been a few times now sooo when delayed for work. Food is sublime and very reasonably priced. There is a great selection of drinks priced probably average for Aberdeen. Beer is good also. Highly reccomend a visit.
