About This Pub
Oh, let me tell you about The Tippling House – it's one of those places in Aberdeen that just hits the spot for a proper evening of drinks and good company. I popped in recently and was blown away by the cocktails; they're crafted with such care, using top-notch ingredients and a real eye for detail, whether it's their whisky selections or those seasonal libations. The staff are an absolute delight, always on hand with a smile and expert advice, making you feel like you're chatting with old mates behind the bar. Pair that with some delicious small plates and bar snacks that keep coming until late, and you've got a recipe for a brilliant time, especially if you're near the art gallery or theatre. On the flip side, it's not open every day, so you might have to plan around that, and the prices can mount up if you're not careful, which might make it a special occasion spot rather than an everyday haunt. Still, it's got that cosy, subterranean charm that makes you want to linger, and overall, it's a top choice for anyone looking to unwind with quality drinks and a welcoming vibe – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The cocktails are absolutely spot-on – they're well-balanced, creative, and made with real passion, perfect for anyone who loves a good drink.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable; they'll make you feel right at home, chatting about the menu and suggesting favourites.
-
It's got a charming, cosy atmosphere with Italo-style décor and comfy booths, making it a great spot for a relaxed evening or late-night catch-up.
-
They offer a solid selection of food too, like tasty small plates and bar snacks that go brilliantly with the drinks, available until the wee hours.
-
Being in the cultural district near the art gallery and theatre, it's conveniently located and has a vibrant, welcoming vibe that's hard to beat.
Cons
-
It's only open five days a week, which might be a bit of a letdown if you're planning a spontaneous visit on a quiet Sunday.
-
With moderate prices, it can add up quickly if you're indulging in cocktails and food, so it might not be the best for those on a tight budget.
-
As a cocktail-focused spot, it might not suit everyone – if you're after a simple pint or a quiet, no-fuss evening, you could find it a tad overwhelming.
-
The subterranean setting is atmospheric, but it might feel a bit tucked away or intimate for larger groups, and getting there late could mean it's buzzing.

Firstly. Service: phenomenal, was greeted instantly, kind and soft spoken server and our water jug was refilled when it wasn’t even empty. The way my jaw dropped at the level of sophistication this place has (even at almost 1am). Please come here is your unsure as I could not recommend more.
Furthermore the actual drinks here are delicious and well thought out, plus, the mixologists know what they’re on about here. I referenced a drink from a video game and one of the bartenders knew what is was, told me and said he could make it if I wanted.
6 stars!!!!
Fantastic bar with excellent selection and friendly staff. The cocktails were amazing. Absolutely recommend!
Been coming here for yeeeears and it never disappoints!!!
Celebrated our 10 year anniversary with our favourites.... Rye Old Fashioned and the dirtiest of dirty Gin Martini!!!
You guys are all amazing, make us feel special evertime we're in, even when the place is packed... which is always, make sure you book! If not a seat at the bar watching the magicians.. sorry mixologist is well worth it!!!
Cheers guys and see you soon!
Great little hidden speakeasy tucked away on Belmont. Stumbled upon it and loved the atmosphere. The £10 signature cocktails are amazing and well thought out and balanced. Had 3-for-2 small plates with a great variety : had the fritters, bao, and poutine. Evan and Charlie (Charlotte) were friendly, attentive and prooud of the establishment. Bonus points for being in a basement so the bathrooms are on the same level!!!
Was our first time here after hearing about it for so long. Jamie really made our time there amazing, was so incredibly attentive, super talkative and friendly, and had great knowledge of the stock and drinks on offer. Thanks Jamie!! The vibe is great, the drinks are amazing and they can make most things by request. They also have a trade menu for hospitality staff. Fab place!!
