About This Pub

Ah, Wigston & District Conservative Club – it's one of those places that feels like a proper community hub, you know? From what I've gathered, the staff really shine; they're so friendly and supportive, especially when folks are dealing with tough times, like after a loss. It's heartening to hear how they keep everything immaculate and make sure everyone feels looked after. Plus, the prices are spot on for a casual night out, and they've got some nice touches like a cosy side room and entertaining features such as a skittle alley – perfect for a bit of fun with mates. On the flip side, though, the beer choices are a tad disappointing; it's mostly keg stuff or canned Guinness, which might leave you wanting more options if you're a beer enthusiast. And do watch where you park yourself, as seating can be hit or miss. Overall, it's a solid spot for a relaxed gathering, but it does have that undertone of being used for sadder events, which can make the vibe a smidge melancholic at times. If you're in the area and fancy a straightforward, community-focused evening, it's worth popping in – just go in with realistic expectations!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and supportive, always going the extra mile to make you feel welcome, especially during difficult times.
  • Prices are reasonable, making it a great spot for a casual get-together without breaking the bank.
  • They've got a lovely side room and some fun entertainment options, like a top-notch skittle alley, which adds a bit of charm to the place.
Cons
  • The beer selection is quite limited, mostly just keg options or Guinness from a can, so it might not satisfy those after a wider variety.
  • You have to be a bit careful about where you choose to sit, as some spots might not be as comfortable or ideal as others.
  • It often seems to be used for more sombre occasions, which can give the atmosphere a bit of a downbeat feel at times.

Reasonable atmosphere, the beer selection is very limited, keg only or Guinness from a can. Fairy cheap though.
