About This Pub
You know, when you step into the White Swan, it's like slipping into a comfy old jumper – it's got this brilliant mix of history and modern flair that just makes you want to settle in for the evening. I love how the staff go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome, and the drinks selection is spot on, with plenty of ales and special deals that won't break the bank. It's especially ace for catching the footie or enjoying a karaoke night with mates in that cosy beer garden. On the flip side, if you're peckish for more than a quick pasty, you might find the options a bit lacking, and I've heard a few grumbles about the beer being served cooler than ideal. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed pint, but it's worth keeping those little niggles in mind if you're planning a visit – honest, it's all about getting that balanced scoop for your next pub crawl!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
A cracking selection of ales, lagers, and craft beers, including options from Bootleg Brewery, with some great special offers to boot.
-
It's a brilliant spot for watching live sports like the Premier League, with Sky and BT Sports available both inside and in the beer garden.
-
The historic charm mixed with modern touches, like original oak panelling and a cosy beer garden, gives it a lovely, inviting vibe.
-
Reasonably priced drinks and fun events like karaoke nights keep things lively and affordable for a good night out.
Cons
-
Food choices are a bit limited, mainly to those tasty Carrs pasties, so if you're after a full meal, you might need to look elsewhere.
-
Some folks have mentioned the beer being served a tad too cold, which might not suit everyone's taste.
-
With opening from midday most days, it could feel a touch late for early risers or those wanting a quick morning pint.

A great pub probably the best Swinton has to offer, friendly staff & customers. I was offered a free shot when I enquired what shots a nice young lady was having which shocked me as I haven't had an offer like that for years. Unfortunately I had to decline as I was driving but I appreciated the offer & helped to put me in a good mood. As I had not been in their for a couple of years bit was nice to see the place hadn't lost it's charm & good to see some old friends.
Excellent tribute to our VE day veterans, well done White Swan
We went in for the karaoke night and Beth who hosted the night wow amazing singer Beth got all the locals going and everyone joining in absolutely fantastic night fun and friendly place to go drinks are reasonably price and is a good pint
Absolutely amazing pub... atmosphere was great and they have tasty pasties!! Great staff to.
So good that most of the pubs around here are open lunchtime. Another Holts pub with a top class Vaults bar. They appear to prefer the Bitter slightly on the cold side here - taking some getting used to.
