About This Pub
Oh, let me tell you about The Swinton Hop House – it's one of those places that just sticks in your mind for all the right reasons. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this brilliant selection of beers, especially the local cask ales, which are clearly a highlight and keep things exciting with new options popping up. The staff are dead welcoming and passionate about what they do, which really makes the whole experience feel personal and enjoyable, like you're part of the gang. It's recently had a spruce-up, so the space feels fresh and comfortable, perfect for settling in with friends for a chat and a pint. On the downside, though, not everyone's on board with the dog-friendly policy, and a couple of folks have piped up about wishing it were adults only to avoid any little ones running about. Still, with such high ratings and glowing feedback, it's clear this spot does most things brilliantly – I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're after a solid local pub with heart, just keep those preferences in mind if dogs or families aren't your thing.

The place has been refurbished really well, giving it a fresh and inviting look without losing that cosy pub charm.

Great local pub. The owners are very friendly and there's a lovely local crowd of familiar faces. They are clearly passionate about quality beer, in particular when it comes to cask ale. There are four casks on the bar, with Marble Bitter as a mainstay alongside a changing lineup of ales from local breweries. They are kept to a very high standard. I understand there are plans to keep improving the ambience of the venue, which is already great so I'm excited to see what's next.
Lovely community pub, recently under new management. Great selection of beers and ciders on tap and in the fridge. Try the black pudding scotch eggs 👌
Great to see Hop House open again, refurbished really well and glad to see two toilets, but why are dogs allowed? Not everyone likes dogs, Same goes for children, pubs, adults only, what's wrong with that.?
Great to see this place open again with a new team led by Ste, who is passionate about creating a welcoming place that serves top quality local brews. Well worth a visit alone, with your better half or your mates.
One of my favourite places in Manchester. A fantastic selection of local beers (and gins) of the highest quality which are constantly changing. Extremely friendly staff. The place is small but always has a great atmosphere and is dog friendly. A must for beer lovers
