About This Pub
Ah, the White Horse – it's one of those Oxford gems that just draws you in with its old-world charm and that quintessential British pub atmosphere. I love how it nails the traditional style, with its narrow layout creating this cosy, almost storybook feel that's perfect for sinking into a chat over a well-poured pint. The service is always spot on, too – friendly and unhurried, which makes it a welcoming spot after a day of exploring. Plus, with a decent range of ales and beers, and that fun link to films and TV shows, it's easy to see why folks keep coming back, especially during lively events like festivals. On the flip side, though, it can get a tad tight inside when the crowds build up, and if you're hoping for a wider choice of spirits, you might find it a bit lacking. The outdoor seats are another mixed bag – great for people-watching on a sunny day, but they feel a bit squished and exposed when the British weather decides to play up. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed outing, as long as you go in with realistic expectations and maybe pick a quieter time to visit.

Scores most highly as a traditional pub in both style and layout. The cramped and narrow layout creates the perfect old world atmosphere. Well worth a visit for the experience. Many films and tv shows have used this pub as a location and once you visit you’ll understand why. It’s completely unique and certainly an experience you won’t forget.
We enjoyed our meal in Oxford. In this iconic emplacement for the inspector morse. We lunch a fish and chips, a bagel of baked salmon, the sausage and of course three pints
Nice little pub opposite a lot of busy attractions. I really enjoyed the interior but the tables outside would be perfect in better weather to watch people pass by.
Service was friendly and laid back. Beer was in good condition.
A historic English pub in Oxford has a good selection of ales and beers. It’s a fun place to have a pint, a snack and enjoy the crowds especially having been on a tour bus all day. We were there during a festival which added to the already cheerful atmosphere. If your touring around Oxford I highly recommend you visit this classic pub.
Nice pub with limited liquors and lovely atmosphere! The pub is small but it has a really lovely atmosphere :) we only went for drinks but it was lovely. The outside seats are quite cramped so having more apace between them and having some roof will make it even better!
