About This Pub

Ah, the White Hart – it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot when you're after a bit of that classic British charm without any fuss. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food really steals the show; folks rave about the Sunday roasts and other dishes that are well-cooked, tasty, and won't break the bank, making it ideal for a relaxed meal with mates. The beer selection is another winner, with a great range of real cask ales that cater to all tastes, and the occasional live music or sports on offer keeps things entertaining without overwhelming the cosy atmosphere. It's got that welcoming feel, whether you're chilling in the beer garden on a sunny afternoon or warming up by the fire in winter, and being dog-friendly adds a nice touch for those who bring their furry friends along. On the flip side, it's not the cheapest spot around, so if you're watching your wallet, you might want to plan ahead. And, let's be honest, it does get packed on busier nights, which can make it a tad tricky to find a seat, but that's often a sign of a place worth visiting. All in all, if you're in Loughborough and fancy a pint or a bite in a pub that feels like a second home, I'd say give the White Hart a go – it's got that balance of good times and genuine warmth that makes it stand out.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think delicious Sunday roasts and hearty meals that leave you wanting more, all at a reasonable price.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of real cask ales from national, regional, and micro brewers, perfect for anyone who loves a good pint.
  • The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a cosy beer garden for summer days and an open fire for those chilly winter evenings.
  • Live music and sports screenings add a lively buzz, making it a great spot for a fun night out.
  • It's dog-friendly and has a relaxed, homely feel that makes you want to linger longer.
Cons
  • Prices are on the moderate side, so it might feel a bit steep if you're just popping in for a quick drink and want to keep things budget-friendly.
  • It can get quite busy, especially on evenings with live music or during peak times, which might mean a wait for a table or a spot at the bar.

Happy accident. We were meant to go to another place for something to eat but it ended up having an hour wait. After ringing around a few places that would accept dogs we stumbled across the white Hart. The food was great, reasonably priced and the atmosphere had a lovely homely pub feel with the fire going on a cold day. Would come again.

This is the best free house pub in Loughborough. Great selection of beers, really good atmosphere, complemented with occasional live music. It has a good outside garden that offers the alfresco experience when the weather is warmer 😀
