About This Pub
Ah, The Three Nuns – it's one of those pubs that really hits the mark for a good night out in Loughborough. From what I've gathered from the chats online, the food is where it shines brightest; people rave about the home-cooked steak pies, fresh salads, and burgers that are spot on every time. Pair that with a pint of something like Tiger cask ale, and you've got a winning combination for a relaxed evening. The staff are an absolute gem too – always polite, quick to seat you even without a booking, and they make you feel like a regular from the get-go. It's that kind of place where you can wander in after a stroll and end up having a brilliant meal without the fuss. But, let's be fair, it's not all perfect; there was this one review where someone was put off by chips that tasted microwaved and drinks that seemed a bit steep for what you get. Still, with an overall rating pushing 4.5, it's clear the good days far outnumber the bad. If you're heading out for a bite and a bevvy, I'd say give it a go – just keep an eye on the bill and maybe skip the cheese chips if you're feeling cautious. All in all, it's a solid spot for enjoying good grub and company, with just a few rough edges that keep it real.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on – think delicious steak pies, fresh salads, and amazing burgers that leave you wanting more.
-
The staff are a real treat; they're friendly, attentive, and make you feel right at home, even remembering regulars which adds a nice personal touch.
-
Drinks are a highlight too, with options like Tiger cask ale that pair perfectly with the meals, making for a proper relaxing evening.
-
It's a welcoming spot where you can pop in without booking, especially on a quiet Sunday, and still get a good table.
Cons
-
There was that one off experience where the food tasted like it came straight from the microwave, which was a bit disappointing and put someone off returning.
-
Drinks can feel a tad pricey – like paying over £14 for three, including a simple Coke – so it might catch you out if you're on a budget.
-
With no website listed, it's a bit tricky to check the menu or hours in advance, which could be a hassle for planning a visit.

ordered a bowl of cheese chips. all I could taste was microwave! they served it with another bowl underneath the bowl was that hot from the microwave! 3 drinks was £14.20, one of these was a coke. never would I go back.
My mother son and I went out not expecting to eat and after a walk around decided to get some food. The server at The Three Nuns was very polite when we arrived and they actually were able to fit us in as a small group without a reservation. Didn't know you needed one in a Sunday. The food was great and very tasty.
Excellent food at The Three Nuns. Home cooked steak pie..never had better, added garlic bread and delicious coleslaw food fit for a king. No one needs chips on the way home after dinner at The Three Nuns :) Add on Tiger cask ale and Old Original and I'm extremely happy. Booked a table and lucky we did. Needed to order before 7.45. Came the previous Saturday and no food available as Saturday is live music night. All staff very cheerful and helpful. Happy days. Definitely return.
This place never fails.
