About This Pub
Ah, Wetherspoons – it's one of those pubs you can always count on for a no-fuss outing, isn't it? From what I've gathered chatting about it, it's got that classic affordable charm that makes it a go-to for a cheeky pint or a bite to eat without spending a fortune. The staff often come across as polite and efficient, getting your order out quickly, and there are some lovely little design elements that add a warm feel to the place. On the flip side, though, it's not without its hiccups; food can sometimes turn up not quite hot enough, and with prices creeping up, it might not feel as good value as it used to. Still, if you're popping in for a cold beer or a simple lunch, it's generally a solid choice – just keep expectations realistic for a chain pub, and you'll likely have a decent time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The prices are spot on – it's a brilliant spot for grabbing an affordable pint or a quick meal without breaking the bank.
-
Service is generally speedy and friendly; you'll often get your drinks served up in no time, which makes for a relaxed visit.
-
The atmosphere has some nice touches, like those unique ceiling lamps and glass separators, giving it a bit more character than your average pub.
-
It's reliably clean and tidy, with food coming out quickly, which is perfect if you're after something straightforward and efficient.
Cons
-
Food temperature can be an issue; things like burgers and chips sometimes arrive lukewarm rather than piping hot, which takes the edge off.
-
Quality seems to have dipped in places, especially with reports of overcooked items or meals that don't quite live up to the price tag after recent increases.
-
It can get pretty busy, making it feel a bit overwhelming at times, and it's not always the first choice if you're after something more premium or unique.
-
Some folks have noticed a drop in standards since staff changes, like with certain dishes not being as fresh as they'd hope.

Ordered a BBQ Burger and took out the bacon and tomato and it was really nice, it fell over even with the stick in the middle to hold it up. It wasn’t hot, neither were the chips. They were lukewarm at best.
The service was great, had our drinks quickly served to us and the woman who served us kept checking in which was really nice as the place was semi busy too.
Atmosphere is alright, what you’d expect from a pub place. Overall a 4/5, the food could have been better but nothing else to criticise.
Since the recent Manager has left, it has gone right down hill. The previous Manager kept his staff in shape & now since he has left, God knows who has took over! Basically my beans looked like they were sat there for ages in the kitchen & also I had some hard beans, maybe overcooked. Staff members normally say....is everything okay with your meal? Well nobody asked me, probs because they knew the state of the beans wernt presentable. Basically now they have lost a regular customer & will go for my breakfast elsewhere in the Metrocentre.
This was a brilliant pub for drinking, resembling more of a Brewery than a traditional Spoons! The widespread lamps across the ceiling adds a nice feel and counter's arches of sorts are unique, glass separators at the seating is a neat touch too. I had a bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale for the city and seating is so comfy to sit back on, tables are kept clean for isolated areas!
Consistent with every other Weatherspoons. Ok food, ok drinks, ok venue. Clean, tidy, and not too busy.
The turnaround time on the food was fairly quick, and the waiter was polite and professional.
Amazingly, the toilets weren't upstairs (just to the right of the bar).
For what you pay, you can't expect much more.
Always pretty busy, food prices have went up which is expected but no longer worth what you actually get. Food comes out quick and is hot, probably due to a microwave. The beer was nice and cold and a bit cheaper than local pubs, wouldn’t be my first choice but would probs come back for a quick lunch.
