About This Pub

Ah, the Wellington Arms – it's one of those pubs that just warms you up as soon as you walk through the door. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are absolute gems, always making sure everyone feels included, and the beer, especially that Tring option, is both cheap and full of character. If you're a sports fan, you'll love the TVs blasting out football and rugby matches, creating that lively atmosphere we all crave on match days. The food doesn't disappoint either, with tasty dishes and plenty of choices that leave you feeling chuffed. On the flip side, it's a shame about the parking situation; it's not the easiest to sort out, and the spot's a bit tucked away, which might make it tricky for those not local. Still, overall, it's a solid little haven for a relaxed pint and good company – I'd say it's well worth checking out if you're in the area and up for a genuine, down-to-earth experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The beer is cheap and spot on, like that Tring brew which is a real treat for your wallet and taste buds.
  • Friendly staff who make you feel right at home, always up for a chat and adding to the welcoming vibe.
  • A cracking atmosphere for watching sports, with TVs showing football and rugby that really get the crowd going.
  • The food is delicious with a good range of options, all well-prepared and full of flavour for a satisfying meal.
  • It's a cosy spot perfect for meeting up with mates, whether for a casual drink or some friendly banter.
Cons
  • Parking can be a right faff, making it a bit of a hassle to pop in for a quick one.
  • The location's a tad out of the way for some, so it might not be the easiest place to reach.
  • No clear operating hours listed, which is a bit annoying if you're trying to plan a visit without any surprises.

I had a fantastic experience at Wellington Arms! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the service was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious with a great range of options to choose from. Every dish was well-prepared and flavourful, a bit far from me, but really nice place

Argyle "on tour". Our first away match in The Championship for 13yrs!! And what a fitting place to start in this pub. We were made very welcome and with a mixture of home and away fans and good friendly banter it was all enhanced by TV screens watching " The Arsenal " ( not a favourite team for the locals !! ) and England women. London Pride was the order of the day and the Landlord invited us to eat our fish and chips bought across the road, in the pub. Nice touch Boss !! Just less than a mile from Watford Junction station it was perfectly placed after our 0700 train from Plymouth. And we got a creditable draw against the home team.....excellent day all round!!
