About This Pub
Ah, the Welcome Inn, what a gem it is in the heart of Manchester – I've got to say, it's one of those pubs that just makes you smile as soon as you step inside. The staff are absolute stars, always up for a chat and making sure everyone's having a good time, which really sets the tone for the whole place. You're spoiled for choice with the beers and ales on tap, and those special deals like fizz Friday make it feel like a proper treat without breaking the bank. The refurb has done wonders, blending that modern touch with the classic pub charm, and whether you're into watching the footy on the big screens, challenging mates to a game of pool, or joining in on the quiz nights, there's something to keep everyone entertained. The outdoor area is a nice bonus too, especially for a summer evening or even a rainy one with the heaters on. On the downside, it doesn't kick off until the afternoon on weekdays, which might not suit early birds, and while they've got catering for functions, it doesn't seem to shout about food options for everyday visits, so you might want to grab a bite before you go. All in all, it's a welcoming spot that does a brilliant job of bringing people together, and I'd definitely recommend giving it a try if you're in the area – just pop in for a pint and see for yourself!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
It's got a fantastic selection of award-winning beers and ales, plus some cracking special offers like discounted shots and ciders that make it easy on the wallet.
-
The recent refurb has given it a lovely clean and modern vibe, while still keeping that warm, traditional pub feel – perfect for a cosy catch-up.
-
Loads of entertainment on offer, from live sports on multiple TVs and a pool table to quiz nights and bands, so there's always something fun going on.
-
The beer garden and outdoor terrace are brilliant, especially with heating and cover, making it a great spot even when the weather's a bit dodgy.
-
It's dog-friendly, which is ace if you're popping in with your furry mate, and there's plenty of parking so you don't have to worry about finding a spot.
-
The function room upstairs is a gem for events, with a private bar and catering options – ideal for organising a charity night or a get-together.
Cons
-
Opening hours start a bit late on weekdays, from 2pm, so if you're after a lunchtime pint, you might have to wait or head elsewhere.
-
While the drinks are top-notch, the food options don't get much mention, so it might not be the best choice if you're looking for a full meal rather than just a drink and a nibble.
-
One or two folks have hinted at room for improvement, like perhaps adding more variety in events or offerings, but overall, it's not a major issue.

Recent Reviews
Great pub with very friendly staff and regulars. Lots of tvs for watching sports, a pool table room and nice beer garden. It has recently been done up so it’s really nice, clean and modern inside. Weekly band and quiz nights are good and they have function rooms for events. Would be good if they offered food or more snack options.
Recently worked with James and his team on a charity quiz night in the function room, they couldn’t have been anymore helpful or supportive. Nothing was too much trouble and all staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great night.
If your looking for a function room with helpful welcoming staff then look no further than The Welcome Inn Prestwich.

there's also a fantastic function room for hire and lots of parking space (just make sure you enter your reg no)
also very dog friendly and a great beer garden for those up and coming sunny days (fingers crossed)
Such a fantastic friendly pub. Great atmosphere and people. Definitely worth a visit for a few drinks and some laughs
Large Holts pub. Best feature is their tv screens for sports. Has a car park and an automated laundry tagged onto the side!
Also has a good sized function room upstairs for parties etc.
