About This Pub
Ah, Bar 5 – it's one of those places in Prestwich that just draws you in with its welcoming feel and that 4.4 rating, doesn't it? From what I've gathered from the chats online, the staff really go the extra mile to make everyone feel at ease, and they've nailed the mix of a great beer selection, tasty food, and a snug atmosphere that's perfect for a relaxed evening or even watching the match. It's become a favourite for some locals who appreciate the little touches, like being flexible with what's on the screens. On the flip side, though, it's not all smooth sailing – a few folks have mentioned the drinks being on the expensive side, which might make you think twice if you're planning a big night out, especially when you compare it to the options in the city centre. Then there's the odd complaint about portions not quite living up to expectations or running short on certain drinks, which could put a dampener on things if you're after something specific. All in all, it's a solid choice for a pint and a chat, but I'd say it's best to pop in with realistic expectations and maybe budget a bit extra for those rounds.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
They've got a fantastic selection of beers, spirits, and even some fabulous food options that hit the spot perfectly.
-
The atmosphere is warm and cosy, especially in the heart of Prestwich village, and they're always accommodating if you're keen on catching some sport on the telly.
Cons
-
Drinks can be quite pricey – for instance, a pint and a cocktail might set you back £12.50, which is steeper than what you'd find in Manchester city centre.
-
There have been a few gripes about drink sizes feeling a bit skimpy or running out of options like alcohol-free beers, which could leave you wanting more variety.

Very expensive drinks, came last night and bought 1 pint Guinness and 1 Malibu and coke and it cost £12.50 more expensive than Manchester City Centre 🙃
Great Bar in the heart of prestwich village. A good range of beers and spirits, with friendly staff and a warm atmosphere!
If you have not tried Bar 5 for a pint and a bite to eat I would definitely recommend it! Friendly staff, fabulous food and a great pint. Always accommodating if there is sport you want to watch and nothing is too much trouble. My favourite bar in Prestwich!
Soon becoming our favourite local! Lovely staff with great food. 100% recommend.
We were there for a private party but they let anybody walk in. Staff behind bar were good but that was it. Asked for large glass of wine, was given small bottle I would normally take on train. OH does not drink so asked for AF beer. They ran out after an hour. No other option for him but sparkling water as hes diabetic. Football was on competing with loud bass DJ. Did not enjoy and left after 90 minutes which considering I'd paid for my ticket I was not happy about. Would not go again.
