Waterfront in North Shields

Member of staff who served me was very dry with me she didn’t seem happy at all had the same issues with her before also. think she needs customer service training to say the least wouldn’t let me order my tarter sauce little squeeze one only one I like saying that is for takeaway only not restaurant am the customer am paying for it should be getting it doesn’t make any sense what happened to the customer is always right ? And by god the price difference is unbelievable will not be using the restaurant side again absolutely disgusting prices compared to the take away side at the end of the day it’s the same food coming out been back today and got takeaway and the staff on takeaway side was fantastic much better customer service and lot less in price so be very careful with restaurants prices it’s a lot more expensive even though the food comes out of the takeaway side and avoid garlic sauce it’s like water very disappointing chips really nice fish excellent but today ordered haggis and it was in way to long the inside was black and very hard even tasted burnt other chip shops leave it in for 10 minutes these left it in 15 minutes way to long will not order that again from this one but fish and chips from hear are fantastic so not all bad .

The best in the area. We've been going to the Waterfront for our chippy teas for years. Bu far and away the best! Crispy batter everytime. Chips not horrid and greasy and their staff are all so lovely.

The fact we have been coming here for Decades and are now Pensioners that it’s nice to see the staff are the same.and so friendly. 💐 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💐 The Waterfront was the last place we visited on going over to NZ to visit our daughter and stayed with her for 3 or 6 months on our 4 visits over 8 yrs. But we always chose to come to the WATERFRONT restaurant for our Haddock and Cod meal for each of us on the first day back. Honestly you can’t buy a better meal than here. Not just fish but I also love the Chicken burger and onion rings x YUM 🐟🐠🦐 plus able to celebrate 🎉 🍾🥂🥰❤️

Delicious, fresh fish and chips with plenty of tables to sit in. Large portions and a great selection, including traditional sides such as pickled eggs/onions, cockles, and muscles! Staff are lovely and attentive. I recommend the plaice if you enjoy a little extra flavour in your fish - lush!

Went here with my family for a take away not my first time and has always been very good and will be back again , definitely recommend this place 🐟🍟. Forget to take pictures of food as we were all starving. Been back again 2/1/24 got a table this time same again lovely and will return again 👌🏻👍🏻 Been back again today 14/4/24 all plates cleared again 👌🏻👍🏻 Back again today 23/3/25 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ again .
